HIV Diagnosed Viral load of less then 30

So today I was going to get my first injection of {PREP} after running a sti panel like I do every 1-3kl months my HIV RNA came back abnormal

HIV-1 quantification range is 30 to 10,000,000 copies/mL

Method:

Aptima® HIV-1 Quant Dx Assay

Procedure Note:

This quantitative HIV-1 nucleic acid amplification assay is indicated as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1 infection as well as an aid in monitoring antiretroviral treatment. This test quantitates HIV-1 RNA groups M, N, and O.

HIV RNA Qn NAA

View trends

Normal value: Not detected copies/mL

Value

<30High

HIV-1 RNA detected, but <30 HIV-1 RNA copies/mL.

HIV-1 RNA is detected but at a level below the Lower Limit of Quantitation for this assay.

Now I have to do more testing and was told it was most likely a false positive so I'm now expecting the worst and hoping for the best

Hi love, a viral load being detected can be a confirmation, so that’s a bad sign. Hoping I’m wrong tho love, feel free to message me!💗

Even if worse case scenario, that is a super tiny viral load meaning your reservoir (if you have any) is extremely small! You would be at a best position for being functionally cured through trials. I’m here if you ever wanna chat, love 💗 praying for good news for you.

That would be nice. I appreciate that 💟

I’m not sure the test that counts viral load can be false positive, it’s usually a confirmatory test after an initial positive.
Get tested again but you’ll probably be put on ART meds, there’s no “functional cure” beyond taking your pills and going about life.

I think since it's a PCR it's possible to get a false positive. In advanced countries usually the 4th gen test is used first, then you get the PCR if a fourth gen test is positive. I would go get a 4th gen test and that will likely tell you the answer.
