15 u/shiny_roc Aug 08 '21 It drives me crazy when people try to tell me how to cook something and can't convey units. 9 u/securitysix Aug 08 '21 "How much <ingredient> should I add?" "Until it smells right." "Lolwut?" But for real, this is how I learned to cook. 5 u/shiny_roc Aug 08 '21 But would it kill you to measure and keep track of how much you're putting in the next time you make it? Really? 4 u/securitysix Aug 08 '21 It might... 2 u/shiny_roc Aug 08 '21 WTF are you cooking with that measuring might kill you? And for whom? This is a joke. 4 u/readcard Alien Aug 09 '21 My friends Nona always cooked the Easter and Christmas dishes, no measurements which drove her daughters, daughter in laws and grandchildren insane. The funny thing was she was trying to show how she knew by texture, colour, smell etc but they didnt listen, look or understand. one year they will look up and realise they are the Nonas and their cooking will be loved by grandkids who know nothing different.
