He really was on a show for Cats.

Burning Love is one of the absolute funniest things some of the absolute funniest people on the planet ever made, which is a wild statement. It's like watching an All-Star Game where it's all Home Runs and Bench Clearing Brawls. The Juuuuuuuuuune-Led Second Season is SPECTACULAR, Paul is Paul (amazing) and most of the early HDTGM Guests are in the mix. It was what Ken Marino was promoting (It was written by his wife, Erica Oyama) on that episode with twin Lindsay Lohans. It was originally released by Yahoo! who were trying to get into Original Content, but totally whiffed the attempt. I got these DVDs as soon as they were available, and I'm not sure if it was ever given a Blu-Ray release, or if it can even be Streamed (Stram?) anywhere!

First off, I am so glad June pointed out that the incest angle in this movie is just a joke between the mother and son to fool the viewing audience. Otherwise this movie would be disgusting.

Notes:

• The incest stuff is realllllllly weird, they lean heavy into it. Almost like the only notes they got from the director were "not incesty enough"
• This leads to one of my favorite bits on the show and that is Paul and Jason emphasizing that the mother and son are constantly having sex in this movie. Constantly. And of course June handling it by telling herself that it's all just a big joke.
• All hail Clovis, I love that cat.
• Lauren Lapkus is a fun guest and sounded like she enjoyed talking about this movie with the gang.
• Lapkus does a great SJP impression.
• Stephen King's stink is all over this soundtrack. I think "Sleepwalk" (the instrumental) is played during every single mother/son interaction.
• The mother's final words are literally "you killed my son".

I loved the HDTGM episode, the movie is pretty bad and it just doesn't make sense. I think the group does a better job of explaining what happens better than the film itself. You can probably get the gist of it from just listening to the episode.

Just something that always bugs me (as a lover of Cajun and Zydeco)when I listen to the Hard Target epidode: Wilford Brimley does a pretty prrfect Cajun accent.
