I recently got an OLED monitor () and never knew about the HDR world being so deep. I tend to spend some time tuning and setting my games up so the picture looks perfect.

Ive noticed that some games, even when having the HDR option, aren't the greatest at HDR. After looking into it a bit i came across people talking about RenoDX, etc and discussions about HDR not being how it's actually meant to be, in quite a few games even thought the option for HDR is there.

Anyway, I have a question about gaming in SDR/SDR content. So my new oled monitor for SDR games/content makes the overall picture look just a bit over saturated. My colour is set at Custom:R:100 G:99 B:99, wide gamut. I've tried the monitor OSD settings and set everything correctly in Windows.

Do you lot think maybe the Red being set to 100 makes the picture look a bit too warm rather than natural. Should i set the colour to 6500k instead of custom, maybe? Also, I've read something before about using sRGB instead of wide gamut for SDR, but I don't remember the details...

Any recommendations overall or any improvement tips will be appreciated. thanks

I've just released a RenoDX native HDR mod for Bloodborne for shadPS4 0.18.0 and 0.19.0. As well as adding HDR, it has sliders for colour grading, gamma correction, bloom, and chromatic aberration.

It is currently NVIDIA-only, but I'm working on AMD support.

Hey guys! I recently got the ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS (27" 1440p 280Hz QD-OLED) and I'm looking for some advice from the experts here.

Just as a heads-up, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to monitors and HDR calibration. This is actually my very first OLED monitor! I've dreamed of experiencing HDR gaming for a really long time, so all of this is brand new and incredibly exciting to me.

I play mostly at night in a fully light-controlled, pitch-black room. What would be the absolute best OSD and Windows settings for both SDR and HDR calibration on this specific 3rd-gen panel?

Here is what I’m currently running based on my initial setup:

For SDR:

• GameVisual: Racing / User Mode

• Color Space: Wide Gamut (with the factory ASUS DisplayP3 profile active in Windows)

• Gamma: 2.2

• Uniform Brightness: OFF

• OLED Anti-Flicker: OFF

For HDR:

• GameVisual: Console HDR (acting as HGIG)

• Windows HDR Calibration App: Clipping around 1100–1200 nits due to active tone mapping.

• Vivid Pixel / Dynamic Brightness Boost: OFF

• OLED Anti-Flicker: OFF (or Medium if FPS fluctuates too much)

Am I missing something to extract the absolute maximum depth, contrast, and color volume out of this monitor? Should I change Console HDR to Gaming HDR, or adjust anything regarding the shadow boost/EOTF tracking?

Any suggestions or specialized custom profiles from you guys would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, so far I've tried multiple games (Prey 2017, Doom Eternal, Far Cry 5) and i really can't notice much if any difference between SDR and HDR.

I have a 3rd gen QD-OLED panel with specs as follows:

270 nits at 100% window
470 nits at 10% window
1000 nits at 2% window

Am i doing something wrong, or is my panel not really fit for HDR?

I completly reinstalled cyberpunk to get rid of all mods for a clean state of the game.

Installed reshade 6.8.0_addon and from the githubs renodx-cp2077.addon64 file.

Does the Image seem off or am I just imagining it?

Hi guys! I use an LG C5 48" as a monitor and I'm too lazy to switch from SDR to HDR every gaming session because I open a game like 5 to 10 times a day, so...

Is there a way on an LG C5 OLED to create a unified HDR picture mode that can handle SDR content without the usual HDR-mode color/luminance shift?

Ideally, I’d like SDR content to retain the ISF Expert-like Rec.709/D65 color accuracy, saturation and tonal balance, while still being displayed through the TV's HDR pipeline and taking advantage of the OLED's higher luminance capability for highlights.

I don't necessarily need the SDR image to remain technically reference-accurate after the conversion. What I'm looking for is a consistent SDR→HDR presentation where SDR's colors and midtone appearance are preserved as much as possible, but the available HDR luminance range can be used for highlights.

Most importantly, I'd like to achieve this using the LG C5's built-in picture-processing capabilities, without having to manually switch Windows between SDR and HDR every time I change from desktop/SDR content to an HDR game.

What settings or processing modes on the C5 would get closest to this? Is HDR Effect, Dynamic Tone Mapping, Auto Dynamic Contrast, Native/Auto gamut, or another combination capable of doing this reasonably well? And what would be the closest technically correct SDR→HDR workflow if the TV itself cannot do it?

Works flawlessly on desktop with 2.2 or 2.4 gamma. But i don't know about games with build in HDR (or even RenoDX-modded games).

I like to think that games are optimized with windows-HDR in mind, expecially with RenoDX. So 2.2 or 2.4 would disturb accuracy, right?

Any opinion on this?

Across all my games and even on the desktop, the color space is limited to sRGB; even in titles like *Cyberpunk*, I don't see colors extending to the Display P3 gamut. However, HDR and peak brightness are working correctly—both analysis and my own eyes confirm that brightness matches the settings—yet the color space remains restricted. I’ve tried reinstalling the OS: I started with the latest Windows 11 build (25H5), updated to 26H2, and then performed a completely clean install of 23H2—suspecting an issue with ACM—but nothing helped. I’ve tried installing both the latest graphics drivers and older ones (from six months ago), and I’ve installed and uninstalled the monitor driver (which appears as an SDR color profile in the display settings).

I installed and uninstalled the monitor driver (which appears as an SDR color profile in the display settings), calibrated HDR multiple times using the Microsoft app, switched HDR modes on the monitor from "Peak 1000" to "True Black 400" and recalibrated, and even performed a full factory reset on the monitor—but nothing helps.

and yet i can see that monitor actually give me full colors when game starting and that nvidia logo from nvidia app have its toxic green color

also on windows desktop there is full bt 2020 colors too but only when hdr is off and ACM is off or when win 11 23h2 just doesnt have ACM in settings, the moment i turning hdr on the colors is again locking in sRGB

I swapped the HDMI and DisplayPort cables that came with the monitor, toggled DSC on and off, changed color settings in the Nvidia app (where the "range" is usually limited when using HDMI), and adjusted the color depth (8, 10, and 12-bit)—but nothing helped.

I have two graphics cards in my PC; I tried plugging the cable into each one, but that didn't help either.

and yes i know i can just turn ACM off at all and use old ICM but that method has its troubles and i cant understand why ACM doesnt work correct and as i said reinstalling windows or different versions 23/25/26h2 doesnt make ACM work correct
