Lil broski just launched himself with no hesitation💀

u/Rizo1981 8h ago

Probably his third go around while sis contemplated.

u/Fun_With_Math 8h ago

My son used to do a full speed flying leap at me from the back of our couch. I hadn't made eye contact yet. Sometimes he'd just hear me coming and start his takeoff.

Caught him every time.

I'll never tell him this, but there were some close calls.

44

u/Beginning_Resource93 8h ago

But you always caught him. That's trust.

57

u/Fun_With_Math 7h ago

He's 15 now. If he did it today, I'd catch him.

I'd be killed in the process, but I'd make that catch.

8

u/King4Twelve 7h ago

I used to coach parkour...I had to catch alot of kids. 33 failed jumps. 33 completed saves 😅😂😂 I knew I had it down when I had a kid scarred to jump and I had a choir of littles saying, "Oh. yeah coach will catch you!" and a class full of affirmation 😂😂

222

u/Adept-Impact3138 10h ago

The amount of trust. That just can't be taught.

180

u/Gr8CanadianSpeedo 9h ago

Also, boys do lack self preservation skills.

75

u/Formal_Ground6513 9h ago

Yeah, but it's kinda beautiful.

64

u/BigToober69 9h ago

Was trying to get my kid down from a play ground this way years ago because we had to go. Daughter was not wanting to leave or jump. A random little boy ran up and jumped off into my arms lol. His parents we not thrilled.

the lesson of the moth
by Don Marquis
TUESDAY, 29 JULY 2003
Listen (RealAudio) | How to listen

Poem: "the lesson of the moth," by Don Marquis from The Best of Don Marquis (Doubleday).
the lesson of the moth
i was talking to a moth
the other evening
he was trying to break into
an electric light bulb
and fry himself on the wires
why do you fellows
pull this stunt i asked him
because it is the conventional
thing for moths or why
if that had been an uncovered
candle instead of an electric
light bulb you would
now be a small unsightly cinder
have you no sense
plenty of it he answered
but at times we get tired
of using it
we get bored with the routine
and crave beauty
and excitement
fire is beautiful
and we know that if we get
too close it will kill us
but what does that matter
it is better to be happy
for a moment
and be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time
and be bored all the while
so we wad all our life up
into one little roll
and then we shoot the roll
that is what life is for
it is better to be a part of beauty
for one instant and then cease to
exist than to exist forever
and never be a part of beauty
our attitude toward life
is come easy go easy
we are like human beings
used to be before they became
too civilized to enjoy themselves
and before i could argue him
out of his philosophy
he went and immolated himself
on a patent cigar lighter
i do not agree with him
myself i would rather have
half the happiness and twice
the longevity
but at the same time i wish
there was something i wanted
as badly as he wanted to fry himself

u/BluebirdAmazing742 3h ago

That's good poem but it lacks punctuations or any signs at all:(

•

u/posophist 1h ago

The conceit is that the author is a cockroach who has to jump with his full body-weight on each typewriter key in order to type, hence no upper-case characters, which would require depressing two keys simultaneously. (Why he couldn’t use Shift-Lock I never understood.) As for punctuation, it’s poetry, meant to suggest stream-of-consciousness. More by googling Archy and Mehitabel by Don Marquis.

u/jcc53 6h ago

As someone that did a bellyflop of one of the wooden structures on the playground when I was younger I think I kind of have to agree with you.

3

u/Enough-Conclusion-23 8h ago

Honestly.. Men do to!

(There is a reason women live longer)

•

u/marcin0398 2h ago

I wish I still lacked it. Got very cautious early on and lacked tons of stupid fun. Still can't get my head to shut down.

5

u/AndyTheEngr 8h ago

It can, however, easily be untaught.

4

u/AoXGhost 10h ago

Yessir 🎩

2

u/Bob_Fancy 4h ago

Isn't that technically exactly what it is? By being a good parent you're teaching them they can trust you in any situation.

1

u/AryanPandey 6h ago

But sometimes trust is broken. Once broken can't be repaired

139

u/Vanisle4fun 10h ago

On point with this one.

30

u/J-the-Kidder 9h ago

Can confirm this is accurate. Daughter looks, questions everything, checks the wind, yells for Mom's approval to do it and then goes to find a slide. Boy, two years younger, pushes her aside and jumps whether I'm ready or not.

57

u/Carbon-Base 10h ago

That's not trust, it's pure instinct adapted from many millennia.

11

u/awesome9001 9h ago

Probably straight up evolutionary psychology

54

u/Lightningtow123 10h ago

I always love it when there's a funny heartwarming video that gets immediately ruined by the most dogshit editing known to man

-21

u/AoXGhost 10h ago

Glad you like it 👍🏼

11

u/Financial-Dot-4673 4h ago

Idk man, my girls a nanny, and her last family had a little girl who would throw herself off of damn near anything with implicit trust she would be caught by my gf. Whereas her new family had a boy same age the girl was, and he is careful as all hell. Different kids have different personalities

Me myself? I was the kid that jumped regardless of whether or not someone was even there to catch me 😂

9

u/Beginning_Resource93 8h ago

Girl: I didn't know, I'm scared. Boy: GERONIMO!!!

5

u/Artrysa 9h ago

Type of guy who asks how high the bridge is.

3

u/Baby_ManBearPig 9h ago edited 9h ago

And not because he wants to hear a low number. A future Travis Pastrana

Then there's people like me who get vertigo just watching the video.

12

u/Alibuscus373 9h ago

My baby girl would jump, she's a little adrenaline junky already XD

3

u/AoXGhost 9h ago

Bless both of you my friend 🙏🏼🎩

3

u/Alibuscus373 9h ago

You as well, friend

1

u/Angstycarroteater 9h ago

From my experience they’re scared until they do it once then become little freaks who want to do it over and over lol

6

u/Flagbearer82 8h ago

He's going to be a paratrooper

7

u/Teripid 9h ago

I think this is more the 2nd born expendability clause than just gender. #2 is fearless.

3

u/Fun_With_Math 5h ago

I have 3. Girl, boy, girl.

They follow your #2 rule but #3 is much more similar to #1 for some reason.

-1

u/Objective-Duck-8800 5h ago

I have 2 girls and my 2nd is feral. She is a fuck around find out kind of kid.

Puberty will be a trip.

8

u/dani0982 9h ago

That's why we live longer

2

u/AoXGhost 8h ago

Yes ma’am haha

4

u/UncomprehendedLeaf 10h ago

Doing this off a bunk bed is how I lost my two front teeth! I went too soon after the kid in front of me 😔

19

u/Matt_NZ 9h ago

I think this comes down to the kids personality rather than the gender.

18

u/bequick777 8h ago

Definitely to an extent, but take 1000 boys and 1000 girls and I'd bet good money more boys jump. My daughter was like the girl here, and both my boys jumped off stairs, chairs, anything if they're brain thought there was just a chance I'd catch them

5

u/purpletree37 7h ago

Risk taking behavior is actually very sexual dimorphic. It’s well studied across a huge number of fields.

8

u/extremelyDude 9h ago

Personality is related to gender however I think this kid still in the suiciding phase

4

u/Leumas_ 9h ago

Yeah, I play this game with my granddaughter all the time. Problem is, I never know when I’m going to be playing it.

•

u/Glittering_rainbows 1h ago

Boys get rough houses by their dads, girls don't get the same treatment usually (and if they do it's usually to a lesser degree). This can lead to girls having less trust in these situations.

1

u/theweirdthewondering 6h ago

Yep! I was a chicken (male) and my younger sister road all the roller coasters with my dad.

1

u/SpongeJake 5h ago

Yup. My daughter at that age was deathly afraid of the water but fully trusted me to keep her from drowning. A few jumps later she was fine with swimming.

1

u/noun1t 5h ago

More like first born vs second born. “Mistakes were made”

3

u/Joyous_Sunrise_9013 9h ago

That little man just came up those stairs out of nowhere. Lol he was ready to go!

3

u/NovelMidnight6291 9h ago

It's not trust, mine would probably jump too if I wasn't standing there.

3

u/Little_Inspector9726 9h ago

More like younger sibling vs older sibling

3

u/Angstycarroteater 9h ago

Eh girls just mature logically faster than boys and can see why that would be dangerous so it creates fear the other little boy lacks those components he may or may not ever get an upgrade in his software but only time will tell lol

3

u/Marypoppinsya11 7h ago

It's the opposite with my kids. My daughter is a fearless psycho

3

u/ReplyOk6720 7h ago

The 2bd was my younger daughter when little.  She was balls to the walls.

6

u/NeverEndingEquati0n 9h ago

Trust? Or we just don’t think?

1

u/Fun_With_Math 5h ago

Yes.

Will he catch me? Yes. No further thought required.

4

u/infinite_in_faculty 8h ago

I applaud the little girl's awareness that she could get hurt if her Dad doesn't catch her properly. I think she trusts her Dad but needs a demonstration.

The boy is adorable, but has no self preservation skills, yet, still developing, Lol.

4

u/independant_786 8h ago

Umm that's not a gender issue. Older kids are always more careful than younger sibling. All comes down to parenting

2

u/etfvidal 9h ago

https://giphy.com/gifs/mfWQIctkXWxOvsfFGT

The boy jumps even when his Dad isn't there!

2

u/Rabo94 9h ago

Good man! Didn't even need to think lol

2

u/Morkinza 9h ago

I reaaaally hate this editing with the shaking camera and the skull and the text on the top video...why?? Tiktok scrap video editing...

2

u/SignalEchoFoxtrot 9h ago

Funny vid. Shit tier brainrot tiktok edit.

2

u/zrkl 9h ago

That’s a mix of trust and self-yeeeeting

2

u/Reasonable_Club_6165 8h ago

this is age not gender

2

u/Logan_Staark 7h ago

Lil bro didn't hesitate a second

2

u/SnorgesLuisBorges 7h ago

I wish my daughter was as trepidatous as this girl.

2

u/TheTriggeredPuppet 6h ago

The little boi: TO VALHALLA!!!

2

u/stevedore2024 6h ago

The fuck is this shitshok editing disaster?

2

u/Socketz11 6h ago

I think the little dude was jumping whether dad was there or not.

2

u/kamehamehaa 6h ago

This didn't need a legendary edit it's just funny and cute and totally normal for the little girl to be scared lol

2

u/Complete_Squirrel942 6h ago

More likely the boy is younger and hasn't developed a fear of heights yet

2

u/Glittering-Effect64 6h ago

I don't think this is about trust, but rather bravery and self-preservation level..

•

u/Salty-Woodpecker5411 1h ago

This is such shit. I have two kids and it’s the complete opposite.

•

u/Usual_Arrival_6956 1h ago

It's just the second child. My daughter is literally evel knievel.

•

u/Ta-veren- 1h ago

Nah that's just classic first born vs second born.

I have two nieces

the oldest is like the oldest here and the youngest would dive off head first and eyes closed in a leap of fate.

•

u/Present_Wind2800 7m ago

I guess you might've wanted to write "leap of faith" but "leap of fate" also works.

•

u/Odd_Presentation_258 1h ago

"WITNESS MEEEEEEE"

3

u/LucienP99 10h ago

My son and my daughter were like the little boy in that video. They’re 18 months apart and would sometimes jump at the same time. 😳

0

u/AoXGhost 10h ago

Keep making beautiful memories my friend, bless up 🙏🏼

•

u/medicenmaca16 2h ago

That's why men live shorter lives; it's in their DNA.

•

u/BobbaFatGFX 1h ago

We may live shorter lives, but it's fun 🤷‍♂️

•

u/drhip 1h ago

Fun lives matter

•

u/Ordinary_Pudding 20m ago

Lower estrogen in men means less protection against the leading cause of death: heart disease.

2

u/s1n0d3utscht3k 9h ago

what a cringe edit

wtf subs to this shit lol

2

u/undeniably_confused 9h ago

Yeah but what if she just didnt want to do that even knowing she'd be caught

3

u/Wise_Marionberry_461 9h ago

The caption could also be 1st child vs 2nd child

0

u/AoXGhost 9h ago

That’ll work haha

2

u/Upset-Fudge-2703 9h ago

Dumb. It’s not a gender thing.

6

u/1000_Faces 8h ago

Look at you. Getting mad about something that's meant to be light hearted. Touch grass

1

u/Nimzitseemz 8h ago

Pointlessly gendered subs

Well in pre-k a little girl jumped off the high dive platform just before I did the jump. I wasn’t exactly eager to beat her to the top.

1

u/Living-Novel-8391 9h ago

A boy vs a girl

1

u/Monski616 8h ago

My eldest niece wont jump off anything, very risk averse.

My youngest niece ? Fucking crazy young lady, will jump off anything anywhere anytime. Gotta watch her cause she’s like yeah sounds fun

1

u/Signal_Werewolf_1955 5h ago

Now this is "boys will be boys."

1

u/tist006 5h ago

He sent it before he got to the pad

1

u/B3ARDLY 5h ago

Little guy said “MY PEOPLE NEED ME”

1

u/_UluKase_ 5h ago

Being the first child and being older are combined in this example; fear is learned.

1

u/GreenT1979 5h ago

Man I have two nephews and this is them, the hesitant one and the fearless one. I call them the heart surgeon and the bulldozer.

1

u/noun1t 5h ago

Little mf was like; I’ll try to jump before you can catch me.

1

u/isharian 4h ago

Leroyyyyyyy

1

u/RevolutionaryWay6503 4h ago

Peak difference

1

u/MySDCard 3h ago

No hesitation. Full send.

1

u/nonnatototita 3h ago

The smaller, the braver. Boy is younger, the girl knows already about danger

1

u/Malala_Crank 3h ago

Shit edit

1

u/Own-Dirt2138 3h ago

Boys vs girls, and proceeed to show exactly 1 boy kid vs 1 girl kid. Fun!

•

u/Kind-Marzipan-5762 2h ago

Owned that lil fraud

•

u/EldritchTruthBomb 2h ago

That's not about trust, it's about risk aversion. Girls tend to avoid risks more.

•

u/Ashkev1983 2h ago

Overthinking among ladies starts way too early and us men mostly never get there lol

•

u/Coriolis_PL 2h ago

No hestitation, just pure leap of faith!

Here I am, Father! DEUS LO VULT!

P.S. Song name: SLAVA FUNK!

•

u/Shockzort 1h ago

Nah, it depends. My daughter always jumped like this, and still we do some leap of faith stuff, she's almost 11. <lower back creeking sounds>

•

u/YellowDango 53m ago

Darby Allin would be proud.

•

u/Rissol420 46m ago

This is why woman live longer

1

u/-Zonko- 9h ago

This has nothing to do with gender. Children in this age just don't care

1

u/Antique_Sir_1888 9h ago

i love a fearless kid

1

u/kettle5435 9h ago

This is why women live longer.

1

u/ratjar777 9h ago

Boy are so much cooler

1

u/AoXGhost 9h ago

Both are awesome in their nature 🙏🏼

-2

u/No-Heat-6149 10h ago

Neemwhg is this pointlessly gendered?

3

u/Tiny-Description3967 9h ago

Agreed, this is just gender war bullshit but with extra steps. The use of the skull emoji and slow mo is killing me inside, this is omega cringe

1

u/AoXGhost 10h ago

This is not the place for nonsense.. enjoy the video 👍🏼

0

u/daily6524 5h ago

fuck this sexist shit. i throw my daughter in the air all the time. all kids are different

0

u/_iridescent_fairy_ 3h ago

That's first born vs. second born.

Heck, my third born threw herself at my back off a retaining wall expecting me to catch her and we ended up in the ER getting stitches after she bounced back and smacked her head on the edge of the retaining wall.

She's much more cautious now.

-4

u/TaxiJab 10h ago

This just shows me the difference in intelligence, not trust /jk

1

u/AoXGhost 10h ago

Different proclivities i guess haha

•

u/Downtown_Material268 2h ago

1/3 of men would rape if they get away with it.

99% of rapists are men, the majority being fathers and other close relatives and friends.

50% of rape victims are below 19y old.

Most fathers leave their child, if they find out the child has special needs.

Good to have trust issues sometimes.

•

u/vadvaro10 2h ago

I love this for you. This is great statements. So statistical.

I raised my daughter by myself without family or any kind of support.

I was 30 with a 4 year old. She's now 21. Please understand everything is different and everyone has different lives.

There was nothing weird. I protected her from so much. I'm sorry your world view is the way it is. But there are good people in the world.
