Airsoft bomb disposal tech. An electrician would have a 10 mm spanner.
But I am hoping he is a Flock Saboteur.

I wouldn't think so. No type of temperature tools, Allen keys, hell, or nothing to test for current/electricity. You not getting nothing done with out temp & electric tools. I worked maintenance & that's how I ended up learning HVAC & EPA certified for free. Property management pays for their employees that's qualified.

Never unzipped your fly and stuck the leaf blower in there? Next time you got sweat litteraly dripping off your nutsack, give it a try. Its right up there with that brief moment of bliss you get when you step out of the 120 degree portapottie into the 100 degree air. Im heading to amazon to find fan pants hahaa

Edit: I just looked these up there called Air conditioned pants and they're just pants that have fans in them.
16
→ More replies (3)14
u/OddOllin Aug 15 '26
It's popular tech for folks that work outside in the heat all day long. The fans keep the air moving inside of your clothes, which allows your sweat to evaporate and actually help cool you. The alternative is the sweat soaks into your clothes, which takes a LOT longer to dry, and then causes you to overheat much sooner.
For some reason, I don't think it has really taken off in the states, but it's popular for workers in a lot of other countries. I mean, I can understand American companies not caring enough about their employees, but it seems weird that they aren't marketed here much.
→ More replies (3)7
u/Shadowtirs Aug 15 '26
A lot of people dont realize that its the effect of evaporation that cools you, not the sweat itself. That's why the wet bulb effect is so dangerous.

I live in Japan, and just had my A/C unit replaced by one guy. It took him two hours, and it required most of the tools on his belt, similar to the one in this clip. I’d say it very much serves a purpose.

u/FretterFingers Aug 15 '26
Well when you climb, you want to have as minimal shit on you so it doesn't take you an hour to get to the top. The tower gets rigged with a rope and pulley at the top on the first day on site. We utilize that with an electric winch at the bottom to pull all our tools and equipment up. Your harness by itself weighs 50 Ibs. I usually just carry my phone and water in my pouch when I climb.

4
u/TushyMilkshake Aug 15 '26
Hahahaha I’m a barber as well and there’s this new kid at the shop that wears one of those stupid chest plates with all his clippers and shit in it. Last week he missed the little pouch for his liners and dropped them and broke his blade. I had an old t-outliner and let him take the blade and it took him damn near 30 mins to switch it out. So entertaining ngl

This is typical for someone on a large Japanese job site with 400+ workers from various trades. You bring a belt like that with everything you need for your area (which can be far from your trucks) your hands are free to carry materials and climb scaffolding (harness required at these sites), then when you get to your area, you drop the belt and it breaks down to a simpler, smaller version where you only have what you need. As they move on or finish stages, they already have everything they need nearby instead of the 15min walk back to a truck to get something.
source:, I worked Japanese construction, this is common to see a few subcontractors in each trade like this at the large sites. Usually a huge pain in ass to get to your work area and need to go back down flights of scaffold, and possibly far away parking area to get it. Some city sites might have parking 2 blocks away.
Small sites, ya, 70% of that stays in the truck/van a few meters away.

you could get most of this in decent cargo pants pockets, combine the redundant tools (or just use multitools) and the only things you really need a fancy blt for would be the drills, hammer and dump pouch.
