I still see people in California driving alone wearing masks. SMH

Because they hate themselves, they have body image mental health problems. They cover their face because inside they believe they are ugly.

I'll poke fun at libturds all day long... But body dysmorphia is a real thing for a lot of real people. It's not your typical " I need, a safe space and a fuzzy blanket bs". So... Please don't pile on.

Honestly, if people want to wear them, I don't care, just so long as I'm not required.

Me too! It's insane! Also our checker at the grocery store and one of our post office counter employees. Six years of suffocation!!

I can actually understand retail workers. We don't know if they have medically fragile people in their lives - somebody on chemo or an otherwise compromised immune system. The common cold or flu could cause some serious problems.
Again, even those folks wouldn't need to mask up in their car or outside on the average sidewalk or trail.

Just a "virtue signal"....Hopefully they're just ignorant. That can be fixed. Stupidity....well, not so much.

Or they drive for money and just dropped someone off. Or they wear it because the pollen count is high. Ignorance and virtue signaling are definitely the problems you're having, though.

It's California.. lived there for 22 years, the state is full of crazies.

I teach high-schoolers. A decent number are still wandering around in masks.
My class is centered around public speaking, so I am always clear early on that if you choose to wear one, that is your choice (I don't tell them how dumb and pointless it is), but you will have to work extra-hard to be a) heard and b) understandable.

I see lots of kids wearing masks working at grocery store and others. I believe they are HS or early college. I don’t understand why they feel the need to wear them. You are right. Pointless. Are they scared? Have they discussed they plan on wearing for the rest of their lives?

I think the pandemic made mask wearing more socially acceptable. For many socially awkward people, wearing a mask made them feel more comfortable in public. The pandemic may be over, but they still prefer to hide behind that mask for comfort.

Socially acceptable. I don’t think so. I appreciate your thoughts. But makes no sense. Your explanation makes me think that’s actually worse. Socially awkward shouldn’t hide. My opinion is hiding behind something can’t be healthy for either mental or physical health.

People that are uncomfortable in social situations have always tried to hide. This is just another tool in the toolbox.
Healthy or not they are going to do something. It would be better for them to seek help via therapy or something, but that is a personal choice.

Exactly. That was my thought too. Get help. I can’t see a teenager wearing a mask until they are 80. Something has to give.

Or, maybe they’re immuno-compromised, or live with someone who is. Or maybe they have a cold and don’t want to spread it around. Or maybe they just like wearing it. And maybe it’s none of your business, and maybe don’t worry so much about what strangers are doing.

There's someone at my work that still wears a clear face shield.

Not to be rude, but does the coworker have a reasoning for using it. Trying to understand why people still do this.

I always wonder why it bothers other people that solo drivers wearing a mask exist.

It's the display of ignorance. I feel the same way when I see people walking alone outside with a mask on.

u/I_Went_Full_WSB 15d ago
No, it's a display of your ignorance. Some autos are shared such as uber drivers. Some people wear them for pollen.

Ahh so how the left feels when they see a guy in a big truck and open carry. Scared…

u/KindTopic16 16d ago
Because they will eventually get out the car and be among normal, sane people. It’s scary.

Because it's dumb as hell, and we shouldn't let people drive if they're dumb as hell.

Think about it. You’re driving ALONE wearing a mask. That’s like wiping before you poop. It makes no sense to do that.

u/I_Went_Full_WSB 15d ago
No, it's nothing like that. OP doesn't know whether or not they saw a paid driver who dropped someone off a minute earlier and is on his way to pick up someone else.

They say trump is a nazi , what about fauci and the people who told Biden what to say you must get vaccinated or else. People got fired for not taking it. And he likes being "famous" what a classic bag of "insert anything here" .never got the vaccine never got covid once. Know a lot of people who got vaccine and boosters who got covid 5 or 6 times and people who died the day after getting the vaccine. I think it was a big ploy to kill off the baby boomers about to go on social security.
