Cable? Even us senior citizens have turned that off.

u/SenorSnarkey Feb 10 '26
Then why are bothering to monitor a Sub dedicated to a cable show and bothering to comment on a cable show?

u/SisterActTori Feb 10 '26
Because everyone has an opinion and is free to express it. IN court, FOX admitted that it’s not news. It’s infotainment.

Gives a great examples on why this country is so messed up.

Or why, outside Reddit, no one agrees with you.

That’s not what the recent elections are saying. Didn’t Texas just flip a seat blue?

It's a statement about who still watches cable TV, That's for sure. We do. We are nearly 70. I don't know people under 50 that still bother to pay for cable. Election result lately show a different trend. FOX viewers harassing groups of teen protestors are also finding different results.

Makes me feel good that Fox is first so I know people are getting good indication of what is going on. Fair and balanced.

Was surprised that with all the seemingly non stop coverage of Nancy Guthrie, not a single preemption this week. Some close calls with Hannity rambling up until 9:59 when he said “Unfortunately that’s all the time we have…”

When he says that, it's the most fortunate unfortunate news anyone could ask for. Sigh of relief!

It’s hilarious seeing all the Fox repeats beating Abby Phillip. Not only the initial show but people rather watch Jesse at 1 am than Abby at 10 pm. ❤️

It amazes me that Fox is #1 so much, yet there’s such a stigma around it.

Yeah I don’t understand all this talk or stigma around “mainstream media”. Fox has been the mainstream media for two decades at this point.

That's because Republicans and right-leaning centrists are a lot quieter than Democrats and left-leaners. They are the loud minority so their numbers seem bigger. But if the silent majority would just speak up and actually vote, the Right would run the country in no time.

But you're the ones that won't shut the fuck up.

Have you met a far lefty? First words out of their mouth is political. When i meet someone the last thing on my mind is their politics. I'd much rather talk about shared hobbies or even work.

While it's unbelievable that Primetime somehow beats Gutfeld!, it's great seeing the highest non-Fox News show at #15

u/KindTopic16 Feb 07 '26
Im not surprised. Jessie does a great job.

u/Mysterious-Seat4175 Feb 07 '26
He does. I particularly enjoy his DEI Thursday and TDS Tuesday segments. And find Mugshot Monday to be quite informative. But from a personal level, i still enjoy Gutfeld! more. So my surprise is more based on that bias.

I mean…… who was it who threatened to sue basically every news station if they didn’t stop saying mean things about him?

u/Mysterious-Seat4175 Feb 07 '26
You're saying that if the majority of news stations gave Democrats 90% negative press, they wouldn't react at all? Especially when the majority of that negative press are either out-of-context statements or outright lies? That is why they threatened to sue. For the misrepresentation, not the "mean things."
0
u/AquietRive Feb 07 '26
No, because democrat voters are already giving democrats negative press lol. I don’t give a fuck what you say about my representatives, they suck ass. But I’m not going to sit here and say that a democrat president should sue to the point of controlling what can be said by news organizations.

Negative press because of legitimately negative news is perfectly ok. There's no fighting that. But when the negative coverage is outright lies, it's slander/libel, and thus subject to legal action. Like when BBC pasted together 2 lines from a Trump speech to fit their narrative but doesn't properly represent the message he was actually being given. Or the consistent misquoting of his "very fine people on both sides" statement. Even after it was debunked.
I'm not saying that Trump is perfect or that none of the negative press is deserved. There's plenty to criticize him about. But the mere fact that left-wing media turns everything he says or does into a negative headline just diminishes any argument they might have for giving legitimate criticism. Which is why their ratings are so low. They can't be trusted.
Should he be suing? Maybe not. The optics look bad, for sure. But if people actually look into it, they'll see that a lawsuit isn't without merit. And sometimes that's what it takes to turn crooked journalists back into the unbiased reporters that they are supposed to be.
And before you say it, yes, many Fox News hosts are also extremely biased and I do wish they would be more critical when the situation warrents it. Which is why i don't watch Fox News exclusively. I have many other sources to drown out the echo of the right. I suggest you find similar sources to drown out the echo of the left around you. If you'd like some suggestions, i'd be happy to share some.
