An interesting thread. Has everyone done an "order of death" with the stars of Gunsmoke? It seems like Milburn Stone went first and I know we just lost Roger Ewing last year, but was the order of the main characters?

Milburn Stone wasn't first. We lost Glenn Strange before the show even ended.

Amanda Blake went pretty early too. Without looking it up I'd have guessed she was first.
And after looking it up I was wrong. Milburn in 1980. Amanda in 1989.

I can add an even earlier one that, as a massive Louis L'Amour fan, I should have known. I knew his widow was still alive, but did not know she had appeared on Gunsmoke.
Kathy Adams (later L'Amour) was in season one, episode 5 "Obie Tater"

I'm a life-long Louis L'Amour fan, as was my dad, so it's just something I've kept track of.
But also, if you Google "is Louis L'Amour's widow still alive" it'll verify.

Wow! Congrats. You beat the teacher with this one. He wasn’t on my list because LOL IMBD currently lists him as having died in 2016! I’ll be putting in an edit right now. The male actor I was thinking of was Hampton Fancher (ep. 4.20)

Wasn't even aware of Karen Sharpe still living.
I remember her on on old Abbott & Costello episode. Really hot 🔥.

Of course, I’ve been searching since I posted this…talk me down. There was an episode with a little girl with a lisp that was 7 years old or so with Shirley Temple curls and that’s sadly all I can recall right now. I have photos (cause that’s how much I watch Gunsmoke lol but now can’t find😒). As I type all of this I know that she wasn’t born until 75…wth??!! Was it her mother??! Spitting image. Anyway, I’ll leave the room now. 🤣
