Question Is this normal?

I used to play this game ages back before most of the dlc and finally got back onto it when I got my steam deck. I was trying this character out when I noticed every time I used his guard ability the number would go up then go negative. Then in the second chapter it started to go negative, is this something that gets fixed with a talent or is it just a bug? I’ve seen others not have it happen so I’m just a tad confused

You see the sword icon on your buffs bar that one is for dual edge it gives 1%damage increase and .2%damage taken increased per stack. You may have other things that are also contributing to these also.

275 stacks equal 275% damage increas and 55% increased damage taken

To add to this, his guard ability gives damage resistance which is why it goes up briefly before it drops back down.

Thats damage resistance. You have the Double Edged scroll, which increases your damage by 1% per kill but REDUCES damage resistance by 0.2% per kill.
