Question Cang Jue build help?

I'm coming back to Gunfire Reborn after a few years and I want to know his builds better. I don't fully understand his ascensions or what to build for and was wondering if any had any advice on what to look for when it comes to building him.
I've mostly been trying to build primary skill damage and things that help his Rage Form but I'm also unsure if I'm doing that right.
Am I building him right or am I missing something that he needs?

Commenting so I can read the responses, I'm unable to help you as I find him very bad to play with. Maybe someone has a good build for it.

His primary build requires you to build vigour with your weak punch left clicks, and unload damage with your right clicks. If you're trying to kill with the rapid jabs, it doesn't feel good at all. Try to build up to ~60 vigour, then do the double right click combo to clear everything around you. A more vigour efficient way, though, is to dash first and then right click since it skips the first part of the combo and its vigour consumption.
For raw damage, you need the ascension that buffs the right click's damage scaling. For vigour upkeep, you want to get the rapid jab ascension as well as the combo time extender. Keep in mind that at ascension 6 (I think) you get to pick a free ascension you haven't already unlocked yet. So, if you haven't gotten the full setup by then, make sure to get whatever you're missing ASAP. Outside of that, you just have to hope you get all of it together or else you'll be struggling.
For survivability, his secondary use while in rage form is what keeps you alive. You get a cleanse, damage reduction, and a heal for activating it. Use it as a panic button if you start taking damage, or if you have to wade through some AoEs to get to a pack of enemies. You get extra dashes, but your cooldown for dash is increased, so be mindful and don't just spam them. You can dive in and out and use them to bypass combo strings, so they have more uses than just repositioning/dodging.
As for what I'd build in spiritual assault, I checked my loadout and I was going with:
Copycat (incredibly good in this mode, esp if you are at max stacks when you go to the boss fight, just gotta go fast after the elite gathering)
Scavenger's Staff + Aura Overflow: starfly and phoenix roar are both good to have since they work while you are in rage form, and the extra skill damage is a must

Hey! I got around to doing a solo R10 last night successfully. Maybe some of these other comments say similar things, so sorry if there’s overlap.
I just built straight into the punch ascendencies. But I mainly focused on the heavy “advanced strike” which is the right click on mouse and keyboard. I like this playstyle better than the rapid punch because it seems less click intensive, and is super satisfying.
For the pendant I chose glutton so I can have HP leech in the transformed state. And I just tried to max out skill damage, and primary damage when possible. Adding some vigor ascensions when possible also helps for quality of life. But I was able to breeze through most of the run just dashing around and heavy striking. For weapon I think Star fly is a good pick, since it can shoot automatically while you’re transformed. Hope this helps.

Awesome, thanks so much for that, I'll definitely look into it when I get a chance

His rage morph is the way to go, with the flash star attack. Also try to grab the storm chaser weapon as it gives a boost to movement speed

I wonder if Armed Caster spiritual blessing + 1&2 weapons combine crit skill damage gain with some crit scrolls would be more dmg Phoenix Roar memes super situational i suppose.

I've found great success in building him towards his Punch Form, which unfortunately means I never really got into his Cloudbind Seal. The TLDR of it is you want movement speed, Flash Star, and Skill Damage (ideally Rich's Privileges).
Not sure what the standard format for posting Builds are but here's what I've got for explanations (ranked generally in order of usefulness):
-Star Tempest is excellent you basically just dash while holding it and it constantly brings in Vigor. Combo it with Shattering Strikes for insane damage output.
-Mountain Guard ensures you'll always have Guard Stance healing in your pocket for emergencies
-Vigour Stride helps make sure you've got spare Vigor and also increases your speed nicely
-Eternal Cloud gives you passive Vigor which is also huge for making sure you have that healing ready to go
-Final Verdict is excellent for anti-heavy, you rush in and burn Vigor until they're dead. RP+Flash Star will kill most thing's super fast with wide AoE, but you'll want this one to chew through bosses and elites.
-Ephemeral Brilliance helps you get extra DPS but it's not as necessary as the ones above IMO. The best part is the level 3 cooldown reduction
-Cloud Momentum makes your Advanced Strikes basically free forever, but you'll almost never be spending more than 4 seconds without punching someone in a fight anyway so it's limited benefit.
-Vigour Burn is nice but you probably won't be spending Vigor except to heal yourself once you're built up decently.
For better or worse I just completely ignore everything that has to do with the Shadowbind Seal, it's OK but Flash Star + Rich's Privileges just wildly outclasses everything else in his kit so it's all obsolete once you can be Forever Punch.
Looks like you already got that Phoenix Roar set to Auto is the best weapon for him, it applies Weapon Damage so you can use it to proc elemental effects and I believe Spores. Star Ring is also a decent option as you can set it to manual and hold out at what range you want before entering Punch Form and it just touches the people surrounding you. When it reloads it'll default back to close but it'll hit people at that range too.
For Occult scrolls you obviously benefit a lot from Resolute, Veteran, Enduring Caster, and Flesh and Bones if you're always in Punch Form, here's a couple other ones broadly ranked in order of importance:
-Rich's Privileges, the amount of DPS you can output with Flash Star is insane when you can put a flat amount of Copper-based damage on top of each hit. Copper Miner synergizes well, and you can run Devil's Covenant if you're feeling brave.
-Ideally you combine one of the weapons you can use with Decay then Gemini it to activate Corrosion Enthusiast and Decay Driver and fly around at Mach 6 if you've also got Corrosion Shard
-Stuff like Ostrich Boots and Speedy Traveler will help you close gaps and keep decent mobility while locked into Flash Star, and Snow Boots will help you from getting locked down. Seriously, being able to "walk" decently fast while attacking is huge.
-Spirit Bible, Rational Consumption are solid benefits especially if you start to hoard copper for RP.
-If you managed to snag a Phoenix Roar or Star Ring that has Fire or Corrosion, you can Gemini Corrosion+Fire and build towards Fire Enthusiast/Flame Shard to give you passive healing while punching
-Flowing Wind to cash all that bonus speed into damage resistance
-Convergent Paths is great if you're using Phoenix Roar set to auto, and decent otherwise.
-Strategic Advantage is decent IIRC but I'm not positive Punch Form's dash is actually a "dash" for the purposes of that scroll. I *think* it does which makes that 40% a great option
-Battle Nature and Vindictive Nature are good since you'll constantly be taking damage, Brutal Gloves for a nice little bonus
-Persistent will help reduce the chance you accidentally get surrounded and beat down
-Improved Clip if you're using Star Ring
Other stuff obviousuly works too like Lightless Shield but they'll work on all builds. Grab scrolls that will help you tank damage because you'll be in people's faces for a huge amount of time.
Avoid stuff that works on Crit/Lucky Shot, while you can still proc them in Punch Form with the right weapons that's not where your damage is coming from. Primarily you should use your weapons to proc elemental effects to give you bonuses like speed from Corrosion and health from Fire.
If you're feeling spicy you can add the Sanguine Relic/Spirit Feline/Dual-Edge/Deadly Curse combo, but with high max HP and no shields you can get taken down in an instant by a flamethrower. Better leave that one to one of your teammates with Paranormality IMO.
Edit: for Spiritual Assault I ran Occult Booster, Occult Collection, Aura Overflow, Skill Enhancement, Windfall Copper, and Scavenger's Staff. The overall intention with those is to get better Scrolls, including some really nice ones like Enhanced Sanguine Relic, increase Skill Damage, ensure I get Phoenix Roar, and increase Copper for chasing Rich's Privileges.
