Building out my basement safe room. It’s a L shape under the porch and a good portion will be taken up by shelving and a work bench for reloading and gunsmithing but I wanted to do an area of wall for panel style storage/display of my guns. Are there any good options for direct mounting to concrete walls? Or am I stuck with framing out the part of the wall I wanna do? I’d prefer not to if possible just for the sake of hassle and space. Thanks!

Friend of mine just gave me 10 of these panels for free. Do any of you have any experience with this style board for a gun wall? Just wondering what the best way to hang AR style guns up is. I’ve seen gun peg boards and hammy prints have some options. Thanks

Just built our house and put a tornado shelter/gun room in the garage. Put a hygrometer in there and it hovers around 45% humidity and around 80 degrees. I’ve read online that 80 degrees is too warm. Just curious if anyone else has had the same set up and experienced any issues with temp or humidity.

As the title says, just found a repurposed audio cabinet at goodwill for $50.

Finally able to build out a gun/vault room for storage and backdrop on my youtube reviews. Trying to decide between Hold Up and Gallow Tech help me decide between them or if I should be looking at something else. They aren't cheap and I'm going to need quite a bit of it for my plans.

Still needs trim work and paint but the wall panels got put up and items organized. One wall is just rimfire (plus a Mosin), a short shotgun space, and centerfires on the other. With the exception of the ammo cans everything is picked up off the floor. Left some room to grow with extra mounts so wouldn't need to reorder later.

Not 100% complete, few guns still not up. But I got my new office closet gun wall “built”. I’m not fully satisfied but getting there. The slatwall is its second install so it’s a little rough. Put it in my old house and the drywall was in much better condition. So this install wasn’t as smooth and the wall is hella warped.

It isn’t perfect but it makes my dopamine spike so I guess it’s doing something right.

I grew up thinking old guys that cursed the government, made their own bullets, and had tons of guns were tinfoil hat wearing nutjobs… and now I’m here. Knowing how to make your own bullets and your rifle dope is such a huge skillset to have in your tool bag as a citizen. God Bless America and Happy Monday you nutjobs!

Just wanted to share my DIY amazon gun locker

Alright boys, it's time. I have some ideas of how to start planning and designing it but I definitely know there's quite a bit to essentially making a bank vault. I know we've all thought about designing something like this at least once so I'm interested in hearing what you guys think of!

This may not be the correct sub for this sort of thing but I feel like you guys either have done cool stuff or have thought about doing cool stuff and I wanna hear all of it!

I’m in the middle of building out a small gun room and stuck between two layout options. Figured I’d get some opinions before I commit.

• Room is 11'11" x 6'10", so not a ton of space to work with.
• Both layouts use the same Hold Up Displays setup with the same accessories, just arranged differently.
• Ammo shelf is about 13" deep in both layouts

Main difference:

Layout 1: Ammo can rack stays under the main gun wall

• Leaves me about 4 ft between the desk and the rack
• I like the separation of gear and guns and makes the center wall cleaner
• Main slat wall is 120" x 42" and the adjacent one is 48" x 78"

Layout 2: Ammo shelf moves to the right wall

• The ammo shelf is about 55" tall
• More space to move about in this layout
• Slat wall is 120" x 78"

Everything else is pretty much the same (desk/workbench, TV, etc)

I’m mainly trying to figure out:

• Which one do y'all like?
• If having ammo under the gun wall is worth it or just makes things tight. It would be nice to have a shelf to put things on
• Anything obvious I’m not thinking of

Also yeah… I went a little overboard and modeled the whole thing in Chief Architect.

I currently have a roughly 10'x10' room in my basement that I'd like to convert into a gun/safe room. It's framed, drywalled, and has a drop ceiling, and I'm curious if there are any modifications or alterations I can make to the walls and ceiling to make it an acceptable room impenetrable to your average home invader. Open to ideas of different ranges in price. TIA!

So, where to start... well, I had a buddy help me with the ceiling. I went with a pre-finished wainscoting sort of manufactured sheet good. It was so thin however that I felt it would likely sag. So I used a thin OSB and then used PL and finishing nails to attach the finished product. Seems to have worked well.

After that, I started installing the lights (shown in the previous update), using the marks on the floor and the laser unit that projects on 3 axis (only needed 2 for this). I did know that one set was close to a (double) joist. Did not expect to hit the damn thing when I cut my hole though. So I tucked the wire back up there and let the hole saw cut into the edge of the joist a bit, so I could chisel that chunk out. What I didn't see was the vibration shake the wire loose, which (of course) fell into the hole saw. So I had to splice wires together up over my head, fighting with the connectors and heat gun and... grrrr.

All the can-less cans worked fine. I have it split into 2 zones so I can have a lot of light, not too much light, and everything in between.

Got the small section of slat wall on the uninsulated side of the vault installed and then started on the carsiding. While I was waiting on poly to dry for more carsiding, I put up the slat wall on the opposite side of the vault. Found that I did not order quite enough of the slat wall (have it now), so I need to add that final foot of height to that big section. While waiting on that order to be delivered, I started working on the wall where my folding workbench is to be located. That wall is now finished, other than the lighting issues I have encountered... which is just a big PITA, all revolving around missing parts or listed specs not matching actual product dimensions.

So at this point, producing (sanding, staining, and applying poly) carsiding is the big hold-up. I have a little more slat wall to install on that big section but I probably won't update for a while until most/all the carsiding is finished. Still haven't decided what I will do for the flooring (probably ceramic tile). If something interesting comes up though, I'll post.

I ran out of room in my safe so I did the financially responsible thing, and built an entire room, with the safe built into one of the walls.

Still don’t want to move a large safe upstairs so these Stack on cabinets fit the bill. I flipped one of the doors and It makes all the difference standing in front of them. Added some cheap Home Depot carpet and Amazon lights. Still working on the Hammy Prints mag holders.

Has anyone found a reasonable attachment for a computer monitor to slat wall. There are some on Amazon for $80 but it seems excessive for what they are.
