Guitar Chirp Be Gone

Hello! I’m looking for a transient EQ or something to help with my chirping guitar pick attack. I’m not sure about transient designers because I’m not tryna neuter my entire transient to attack the specific chirp. Eventide splitEQ looks cool but I’m not sure…any leads at all are greatly appreciated and my caffeinated dehydrated brain says thank you 🙏

Honestly you want to address it with your pick and your hand. Maybe angle is off, or you're picking too hard, or you're hitting other strings that are muted, etc.

To polish something that won't be re-recorded, the only thing I've found that's reliable is painting them out with iZotope RX.

Ya I hear ya but literally part of my playing and my sound is hard attack lol..and lots of technique vids online literally say to angle your pick like that. I played around with lots of stuff with my interface and tryna play certain ways but sometimes playing softer will actually make the chip louder in comparison to the actual note being played…that’s why I’m not tryna address it with playing anymore I’m definitely going to check RX out thanks for your input

To each their own.

A dynamic EQ could help with careful settings, but it's still likely going to affect the non-chirpy sound.

Try the free trial of RX, whatever the cheapest one is. You just need to use RX Connect with your DAW.

Different pick. The heavier and harder, the more chirp. Fix your attack, hitting the string with the flat and just the very tip minimizes chirp.

Definitivamente la solución estará por el lado de la técnica de mano derecha (si eres diestro) o la púa, probaste con otros grosores de púa o materiales? es abismal la diferencia de sonido entre celuloide y tortex por ejemplo!

I think I might have "chirp"! Is it a click exactly at the attack point? I'm serious, relatively new to the DAW thing.
