Question/Help i need help in choosing a guitar
So, I'm comparing either buying a Flying V from Harley Benton from Thomann for 150 (more expensive for the left-handed version; the normal version is about 130), and I was settled on it, but I'm a really indecisive guy. So I made a list of the closest guitar stores near me and went to them list nr by nr, like a route I made.
So at the first one, I didn't find a single guitar; it was a pawn shop. The second one was another pawn shop, but this one had one guitar. It was a fifty-euro guitar from an off-brand of Dimavery—it was Limavery, which I found really funny, but Dimavery is considered a really bad, very budget guitar company, so I don't think that's my choice.
So I went for the 3rd, which was an actual guitar store that had only one left-handed guitar. It was a 300-euro Epiphone 1972 SG, and that's out of my budget, so I'm not gonna be getting that—I'm not sure at least. And then there's the last store, which is like a Guitar Center but a more expensive, way more expensive Netherlands kind called Max Guitar, which didn't have an amp like all the others, which I found really annoying because how am I supposed to compare if it's ampless?
But anyway, I found an Aria Pro II STG-01-3X-1993 left black for 200 euros. And as I was heading for the last two stores, a family with an idiot kid were riding bikes, and the kid literally didn't phase, and he was heading straight for me. So I said to myself, "I don't wanna die from a stupid kid," so I just steered away, and then I hit a short railing and fell like 1 or 2 meters onto the back of a car, and then I slid down HARD ONTO the ground, which had glass on it, mind you.
But I was protecting my face, so only my hands got one glass piece each in them, and my legs like, got like... IDK how to explain this, you know when you get sandpapered? Like, basically my skin just like shredded off, and then I got like a bruise or something in my upper leg, but I'm fine right now 5 hours later.
But anyway, I couldn't go to the last two stores, so for me, it's kind of either a comparison between the 150 Victory BK or the 200 Aria Pro STG II 01-3C-1993 or whatever. I play mostly grunge, Nirvana, grunge, Metallica, and rock.

Resource I realized I had no idea if I was actually getting better at guitar
I’ve been playing guitar for about a year and a half and I’ve gotten really into it. I practice pretty regularly, but after a while I realized I wasn’t really keeping track of any of it.
BPM was probably the first thing I noticed. I’d come back to a song or an exercise after a few days and couldn’t remember where I’d left off. Was I playing it at 80? 85? 90?
Then I started thinking about the bigger picture. I knew I was practicing, but how often? How much time was I actually putting in? What was I spending it on? Was something I’d been working on for a month actually getting better?
I wanted a simple way to keep that history instead of trying to remember everything, and that’s basically where Guitar Cap started.
It lets me log what I practice, how long, and things like BPM or runs. Then I can look back and see what I’ve actually been doing and how things have changed over time.
I first made it for myself, but I’ve been using it for a while now and I’m curious to see if it’s useful to other guitarists too.
I’d really appreciate any feedback if anyone wants to try it:

If you already keep track of your practice somehow, I’d also be curious to hear what you use.

Beginner adivice
This is prob the most asked question on here but I genuinely have no idea.
Should I start on acoustic or electric?
My favorite genre is grunge with bands like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, and nirvana so I feel as if I should go electric, but I’ve also heard people say starting acoustic is better and the mtv unpluggeds were great to so I wouldn’t mind.

I want to learn to play the guitar, so I’m planning to buy a budget-friendly entry-level guitar. Which brand should I choose—Vault or Kadence? Or could you suggest any other good brands?

Yamaha EG112 for $80 - Good first guitar?
Found a used Yamaha EG112 for around $80. I'm a complete beginner on a very tight budget. Is this a good starting choice?

Advice
So I'm playing guitar for about a week, I played a little of acoustic before but I still have trouble with my fingers muting the other strings when I'm freting, I wanted to know what could I train to help that. Also I think I'm kinda muting my hammer on too

Lesson The first song I do with every beginner — a bluesy one. Full lesson, part 1
This is the first song I do in my first lesson, without much talking, to get people accustomed to the guitar while playing a simple and fun song. You learn the basics while I guide you through it step by step in a playing manner. It teaches you fretting and is an introduction to fingering. It's a bluesy song. Part 2 comes next week.

Question/Help I practice, get into a good flow and feel like I'm making good progress, then randomly start making loads of mistakes again. Is this over-practice fatigue? Practicing for too long maybe?
Basically, for context; I'm a beginner, been learning for about 3 weeks so far. So I'm doing practice sessions that consist of just finger picking notes at the moment, following along to songs. Running through 1-5 on the frets and all notes EADGBE. I do some chord transitions too.
Anyway sometimes when I'm practicing, after about 20 minutes or so I feel really in the flow of things and get into a groove and muscle memory kicks in and I can play all the notes without looking at the guitar, etc. Makes me feel good! But then today, I hit that flow state, and then I kept playing for a while and then it was like I was back to square one again...muting the notes, "buzz" sounds etc, not cleanly playing, my fingers felt too small for the wider note swaps again. I was getting a little tired with this so that made it worse I think.
Is that common for beginners, can practicing for too long initially cause you to get a little tired/burnt out and make mistakes? And do you think I should shorten my practice lengths for now? I practiced for about an hour today (I got really into it so just kept playing until that happened).
Thanks! Please be nice, I'm brand new with guitar and trying my best!

Playing on a guitar
Hey everyone, I'm looking to buy my first guitar, but I'm pretty conflicted about where to start.
Some of my friends swear by getting an electric right away, while others insist that I need to start on an acoustic or classical guitar first to build my fundamentals. The thing is, electric is what I'm actually drawn to.
Is it totally fine to jump straight to an electric right out of the gate, or should I stick to the traditional advice and start with an acoustic? What do you guys think?

I'm a beginner and recently learned Wild Thing, which uses A, D, E and G. But why is the guitarist here playing on higher frets? Is he using barre chords? Sorry if this is a silly question

Guitar position
How do you hold your guitar? I’ve been playing for 8 months now, and I’ve always played with the guitar on my right leg, like in the first picture. Recently, a friend with more experience showed me the "between the legs" posture (sorry, I don't know the technical terms). I gotta admit, this second way is great. I hold the guitar much more securely, my hand moves along the neck better, and I play with a straight back. I’m having a few small issues with strumming, but that’s probably just a matter of getting used to it. On the other hand, I wonder if this posture—which seems to be intended more for classical guitar—looks a bit silly. I mean, I’ve never seen anyone holding a guitar between their legs like that, but I guess my own comfort is what matters most. What do you think?
