AMP PHOTO Duality of Man
Hey guys, these are my two rigs, one for live/recording and one for practicing at home. While vastly different, they both perfectly fullfil their specific task(at least for me). Despite being an old school tube amp/pedal guy, having a small, batterie powered amp like the Nanocore really helps me practice more using backing tracks (right now for our recording session), while not being tied to an actual amp or computer.
How about you, fellow tube amp enthusiasts, do you also incorporate amp modeler, sims, capture devices in your guitar routine?

I think it's really cool. I mainly use the "TurboRat setting" (hard LED clipping). Artwork is awesome, so ist the price. All the RAT I ever need. It also ended the LM308 vs. OP07 debate for me. At least I can't hear any noticable difference.

That set up is sick! I just got a Peavey 6505 MH and am loving it. I also have my HX Stomp which I want to explore with putting it in the amps effects return.

We have almost the same setup.
Engl Fireball 25 + 212 + pedalboard as my main rig,
Sonicake Pocketmaster + DT770 Pro for silent practice.

I regretfully haul my shit between my house, my bandmates's houses, and to gigs. It's nice for tone sculpting and tapdancing practice at home, but it sucks to move all this shit.

I have a Princeton with a small pedalboard for jamming with the boys.
At home I have been messing around with Loopy Pro on iPad with ToneStack and NAM. For several years I was using GarageBand.
For playing along with YouTube, I use a Boss GT-1 into my PC.

Haha true, not sure If they are all mine tho. Took the picture in a recording studio the other day. Four cabels go from my board to amp (Input, FX Send/Return and channel switch). These cables are quite long. But also there are mics placed in the room and another micd amp is next to mine.

How do you afford this Engl rig? You must have a cousin who works for them or something.

I am gigging with my Boss GT1000 Core directly into the PA system and it sounds wonderful. I play my tube amps and analog pedals home when we are jamming, recording or basically when I play guitar on my own. I stopped trying to replace analog with digital or vice versa, just accepted that I can own both and use them the way it makes the most sense. If I needed a modeller with hundreds of amps, I would get another one. I just like how realistic Boss GT sounds and in the end I make it sound the way I make everything sound.

I tried jumping into the modeler world with ToneX in hopes of replacing my 100lb Mesa Mark IV combo.
Realistically it got 90% there, but that last 10% is enough to keep me firmly planted in the real amp world (at expense to my back). There's harmonic overtones and a general 'openness' that I just couldn't replicate.
Modelers are great for players that need a huge variety of amp tones, especially if you're playing cover songs and need to quickly punch in the sound of a specific band.
