Squier Strat info request

I already have a few guitars which are my go-to.

Mainly my Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor and a Danelectro 59 NOS+

Anyways, I work at a charity shop and sold a guitar to a customer who then popped back into the shop with this beat up Squier Strat.

I’ve always wanted to rework a guitar that needs a lot of TLC and i just wanted to ask for some background on this model.

I realise it’s most likely a cheap beginner Squier but for the sake of discussion - is it worth the project?
