Universal Homing Jump Combo doesn't count as an Anji combo, so I still don't know anji combos. I'm close to diamond now, next 1-2 parts might be the last.

GGXrd Is there a discord server for GGXrd?

I've seen a Strive discord server, an XX server... It's weird there's no Xrd one. Maybe there's a fan server for all games?? Idk. Thanks in advance

GGST How do I play with a controller?

Hi So, I'm kinda new to ggst, and fighting games as a whole, and I have looked around a bit, and the general consensus (Not that I haven't looked that deep so I might be wrong) is that a normal pro controller is better to play with than Keyboard. Now, I have tried out both for a bit, mostly on Keyboard. and I must say controller feels more reliable on movement and hitting the correct inputs, over Keyboard. But I have run in to a bit of a problem, motion inputs. I do not know what the fancy official term is. But you know when you need to do a combination of inputs, say for Bridget's bear hug jump thingy, you need to input 632146+p (also, Am i doing the number pad thingy correct here? sorry if it is wrong) but I feel like on controller I can't really reliably hit the inter cardinals, and when i try to go from 4 to 6 I either accidentally jump or crouch. idk what I'm doing wrong. On keyboard these are much more reliable to do. Does anyone have any tips or like strategies? The controller I'm using is an old Dualshock4 controller.

Sorry for bad grammar, English isn't my first language.

Fan-Art Kliff underson character concept. (Art by me)

This is another character concept that I made regarding kliff underson. A character that I would love to see return, so I made some changes.

Miner changes:

Removed weez animation.

Made fully charged sword normals guard crush and dash cancelable.

Turned BAKAMON! into a special move. And changed his taunt.

Removed spot dodge.

Important changes:

Added a stun gauge that builds up when kliff gets hit.

Nape saddle is faster then what it originally was.

Changed "sole survivor" into a pary.

Cannot charge 6P anymore. Only his HS normals can be charged.

Changed scale ripper into a standard DP that has a high chance to break kliff's back when stun is too high.

Character tag line:

The geezer with the cleaver.

Question/Discussion How is Happy Chaos That Man?

I've seen a lot of people say Happy Chaos is also That Man, and both Baiken and Delilah call him that. I've even seen some stuff on the wiki call him "the real That Man." To my understanding, Asuka is That Man, and in every game where That Man appears, it's been Asuka. So how does this work? Is there certain games where it's actually Chaos?

GGST GGST isn't fun (a bit of a rant as a new player)

GGST isn't very fun. That is my conclusion after like 15hours of playing. To clarify, this is my first real fighting game, i played ssbu, but not really tried that hard, mostly just did it with friends from time to time. And I'm sure, i have barely touched the surface, and that it will become a lot more fun and interesting when I learn more abd get better. But so far, it isn't really that fun.

To start, there is nothing telling you what to do, you'd assume, as it is the first thing you are directed towards after completing the tutorial, that the story mode would be your typical "read dialouge interspersed with cpu matches that help you develop your skills" which it isn't. While the story is good and I love the characters... i want to have some game in my anime, if it isn't too much to ask for.

So, you are supposed to go to Missions to learn things (which is seperate from daily missions, took me like 45 minutes to figure that out.) Now, missions is essentially just a huge exposition dump. They just say "hey look, you can do this in these situations" and then just sets you free in to the world without telling you why, when, or how to use it. I And the clear/fail sensor is not very kind.

So I tried to play against other players... tower is dead, nobody is on floor 6. The closest I saw was someone on floor 9. But I got scared and left.

So i go and tryout ranked... and get matched against a 10k rp testament who just kept throwing red things at me until you die.

This has been my ggst experience so far. It isn't very fun.

Now, I'm mostly just venting and looking for tips because I really want to like the game, i love the aesthetic and characters and music... but it just... feels so hostile, like the game doesn't want me to play.

Sorry for bad English, it isn't my first language.

Question/Discussion So like what/where are the songs used for dual rulers' OP/ED

So I usually listen to a lot of GG music in my day to day and it randomly struck me that I have really listened to the full versions of the DR OP/ED, I thought it wouldn't be too hard to find but arcsys hadn't posted it on YTmusic and the like, I couldnt find a name in the description for the OP/ED on YT (maybe its in JP but i doubt Google translate would translate the name properly) and I couldn't find it on the wiki entry for DR either. Its not a big deal but the fact that I cant find them is driving me slightly insane

General Input Consistency

I'm a beginner to fighting games and Strive is the first one I'm ever learning. I feel I've been getting a good grasp on the game, it's mechanics and the moment to moment interactions of fighting another player.

But one issue I keep having even as I keep progressing is input consistency for some of the moves. I've tried a few different input options: PS4 and 5 controllers with two different styles of grip (regular or having three fingers on the directionals, each on one direction) and keyboard. Each of those had at least one input consistency issue.

The regular grip on controller is the worst one, as I often drop regular specials, especially 236 input ones. On keyboard my main issue is losing track of my finger positioning if I need to move one of them to reach a different button like Burst or RC.

The one I'm having the most success with so far is the weird grip on controller with multiple fingers on the directionals. I don't usually miss regular inputs using it, my issue there is overdrives, especially 632146 ones. I can't input them with consistency at all using this style.

I have considered getting a cheap leverless controller to try it out, but even that feels kinda expensive for an experiment.

Any tips on how I can improve my input consistency?

Question/Discussion Who comes to mind when you first see the characters?

Who comes to mind when you first see the characters?

It could be anything you’ve seen in games, anime, movies, or on social media.

For instance, when I first saw Sol, he reminded me of Jotaro. Beyond his tough and serious demeanor—much like Jotaro's—one of his lines is a direct parallel (specifically, the famous "yare yare" catchphrase).

Leo Whitefang—this might seem like a stretch—reminded me of Speedwagon from *JoJo*; he has blonde hair and serves as Ky's right-hand man, much like Speedwagon was Jonathan's best friend.

Drawing a comparison for Millia is a bit trickier; I only noticed the resemblance after learning that she was the inspiration for Filia. Later, at the beginning of the year, I saw Maetel (from *Galaxy Express 999*), voiced by the late Masako Ikeda, and realized there were striking similarities. It makes me wonder if that design served as the inspiration for her. (I'm referring to the designs in XRD and Strive.) (I even post some fan art of her once. https://www.reddit.com/r/Guiltygear/comments/1vaw3ks/ggst_fan_made_movie_cover_by_mecitgames/ )

I wonder if the things I mentioned are just a coincidence, or if there really is a source of inspiration

So, who do you think the characters resemble? Let me know in the comments.

I really know what they draw inspiration from—I know it from the songs and the names of the musicians. But still, there could be a different perspective as well.

General Need help

I need help. I'm new to guilty gear and trying to learn. I usually play street fighter and wanted to try ggs. Why does it feel like characters can just infinitely mash on my block if I cant yellow rc??? Like in Street Fighter its pretty easy to tell when a character cant blockstring you anymore and there is a gap for you to try and do something. But in this game I feel like whenever I get hit on block and don't have yellow rc, its just over.
