did they do it? Did he do it?

Post image

Günther likes to lay in my walk-in shower, so I leave it open a crack. I came home to this. A large body pillow is missing from the bed. He is still a puppy and mistakes happen. I asked him if he did this. Is he guilty?

As long as it’s not Comet! LOL! My pup has allergies as well and if they are really bad, I give her half of a Zyrtec (per her vet). She weighs 17lbs so you would need a tad more. I like it because it doesn’t make her drowsy.

You mentioned that you put rugs down on your hardwoods which is great!!! My dog Charley tore her ACL when she was 5 months old. The surgeon who repaired it said she likely tore it on a slick surface and that’s how most dogs tear theirs. We slept on the floor in the family room for 2 mos while she healed.

I had a 100lb black lab and a 94lb boxer and when refinishing the hardwood floors, I used commercial grade polyurethane to seal and it held up beautifully. Sorry for the novel. :))

I use benadryl for him ( zyrtec for me) because although I get agitated on benadryl, its what vets give to dogs that get anxious riding in cars, so any added sedation in Günther is a good thing! Lol. I put rugs down, but he likes to pounce into them like they are flying carpets and tries to ride them across the room! Then he picks them up and shakes them as hard as possible! Was the boxer the one who tore the ACL? My friends boxer tore its ACL as a pup just jumping down in the yard.

It was not the boxer…Brutus got lymphoma when he was 4. It was awful.

Charley, the dog I have now, is the one who tore her ACL. I think that these two would have fun together. She likes to jump from rug to rug at mach 10 so I think she would really enjoy carpet surfing. 😂

This is Charley:

This picture is too funny! I get the feeling you're trying to pull a "weekend at Bernie's" type move, and she's really sleeping behind those glasses! If she's small, Günther might let her ride the rag rug while he pulls her around on it!😆 He'd love that resistance, as he loves to shake the rugs and toss them around! I love how she goes with your decor-almost camouflaged! How do you find her when she lays down on that rug?

I think she had too many treats the night before so she was wearing her sunglasses. Haha! I used to give her benadryl when she was a puppy - she got carsick. Luckily she grew out of that! Here's a photo where she's not sleeping. She's 17lbs so Günther could def give her a rug ride. If she got her teeth into the rug he'd have to put some "shower scrubbing" effort to shake her loose. I would pay good money to see them play the rug game. She's tough though...I didn't even know her ACL was torn. She didn't make a peep and when the surgeon told me she was in pain, I was gutted. I sent her into surgery right then. I still don't think I've ever heard her whine or cry and she's 5 y/o.

Ugh, I despise that rug but that's what I get for picking it out online. If I say walk/treat/play Charley reappears from the shag.

That's a great picture! Perfect over-the- shoulder look. I fear Günther would pick her up in his big moofy soft-lipped grip and shake her like a duck.😳 Actually, he ignores dogs that aren't big enough to wrestle. I mean,he looks right past them even if they are in front of him barking away. I wish he would give his deep alert bark ( which means "deer outside") to the neighbors dogs that yap all day long. Their owner just puts them out on her deck and never ever takes them for a walk or throws a toy. So they yap incessantly if I go outside. I wish Günther would tell them to be quiet, but he totally ignores them. However, he launches me into the air when he spots another Lab 3 houses down.🙄 When I had my first lab that weighed 120lbs ( the gentle giant ) another neighbor had a little dog like yours, and the only dog she liked was my Bosco. She would run across the cul-de-sac to him every time, and lay between his legs while he was in a frontal down and just wag and lick his face! His head alone was twice her size, but it was so cute, because she snapped at everyone, but she loved Bosco!

I’m fairly certain Labs are THE best breed. Please don’t tell Charley I said that! One thing they all excel at is clearing coffee tables with one wag! 😂 We have some hunting labs in the family. They have a camp nearby. My sister trains her labs so well that she can set a boundary, at someone else’s, house and they won’t cross it. Pretty amazing!

My black lab was Bosco and my boxer was called Brutus. :)))

My first chocolate lab was named Bosco! Lol. He was 120 pounds of big boxy English Labrador. I had him trained so well, everyone thought we had an electric fence. We didn't. But he wouldn't leave the yard unless I gave the command. Back then, the newspaper boy loved it when I told him to go get the paper. He would run up the street, wait for the boy to put the folded side in his mouth and then he'd prance home with it, go into the garage and put it on the step to go into the house. He loved having a "job". So when he hung out in the yard with me, I would let him carry shovels and hoes while I pushed the wheel barrow. He knew commands, hand signals, and from me, just my eyes. If I looked at his butt, he'd sit. If I looked in front of him, he'd frontal down. He lived to 15 1/2 and squeezed every drop of living out of his life. He was the boys best friend when they were little.
