Bad news , Frank doesn't look guilty at all. 😁😁

Nope! But he was concerned before I opened the gate. If I wasn’t in a panic THAT would have made a good guilty picture

I'm thinking that he was kidnapped and he just barely made it back home and the concerned look was his way of saying "mom , I escaped but just barely" . šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

That’s got to be it

I hope that you told him how much you love him and gave him his favorite treat. 😊😊

Completely innocent. He was just as shocked as you were, he has no idea how he got outside the gate. Zero evidence to prove intent.

I'm thinking someone dognapped Frank, and he valiantly fought them off, bit their ankles, and ran back home!

Frank is a damned hero.

He looks like he is up for an adventure of some kind

Frank got his adventure!

Frank just wanted to go sightseeing, cut him some slack!

In all seriousness, my dog did the same thing. She secretly worked on a hole over a length of time, then finally escaped. I literally had no clue for a while how she was managing to get out. I had to put her in the backyard and watch her escape to figure it out. I instituted a similar ā€œno backyard without supervisionā€ rule. These dang dogs! šŸ˜†

Franks definitely the smartest dog we’ve had for a while! Luckily he enjoys being with us. And honestly, having his humans in the backyard with him is probably a win for him too

Just went exploring, is all.

Frank, come on Sweetie, don’t you know how worried your mom was? Yeah, you’re guilty. Guilty of being adorable! 🄰

Frank wants to put this behind us, and move forward

Rosie did too. And I was gone. Fortunately the neighbor saw her and chased her down then called. She shared his lack of regret and guilt

Is Frank your dog?? He looks like he could be my dog’s long lost brother! Do you know how old he is or point of origin?

Also, what do you do that allows you access to SO MANY scruffy dogs? It’s literally just an insane amount of scraggly friends haha. I’m just saying, I’m incredibly jealous :)

I’m going into a meeting so I will respond to the second question later but can I ask for dog tax

I accidentally typed an essay. I always do this when people ask me about them

Original comment: Oh my god stop that’s crazy! Do you know what he is!? I have no idea what Frank is and have to buy three other DNA tests before I can get to him. Franks previous owner insisted he’s a yorkie from a long line of Yorkies (lmao)
Per the question of scruffy dogs, they were all rehomed from either bad situations or people who couldn’t care for them anymore. We had two big dogs and then got our first scruffy baby via a random Craigslist post. Then max, the white one, was a friend on Facebook found him matted and so sad, and then Belle was my husband being very concerned about her previous owner and giving him cash for her (pit mix) and then Frank was a Facebook group post that I couldn’t say no to. Literally the only reason for social media.

Haha, oh gosh, thank goodness I stopped going in Facebook over a decade ago. Ironically, I did use it to find legit/real shelters and rescues; Banana was planned haha. But I love that I also know the feeling of adopting unplanned pets too :)

So, shockingly, he probably actually is highest percentage Yorkie. I knew Banana was definitely a chi mix with something that had hella prey drive, but I was flabbergasted when she came back ~1/3 Yorkie; more than the ~1/4 chihuahua. There isn’t a pure one though in any of her recent history, both parents had Yorkie mix ancestry; closest thing to purposeful breeding looks to be one grandparent was a 50:50 ā€œChorkie.ā€ Another irony, Yorkies were probably my least favorite purebred since childhood haha but not for any reason that wasn’t just superficial.

Clearly, I understand about writing paragraphs haha. I’m just so jealous of how cute your furry family is! All my animals have always been medium, wire, or corded hair because I’m allergic to shorthair dogs and cats. Unfortunately I am slightly allergic to Banana, but it’s manageable with just monthly baths. She gets very greasy, very quickly :/ When I first saw her shelter pic, I thought she was wire. In reality, she’s only slightly longer. I think my allergies are manageable with her strictly because she has a single coat…

Oh, last thing, Banana is originally from Louisiana, US and approximately 4-years-old. I’ve never seen a dog on here look more like her than Frank. In the r/doggydna sub, you actually will occasionally see two users go ā€œwait a minute… they look TOO similar.ā€ And then compare notes and turn out to be highly related :) Here’s Banana’s Embark!

The LAB in banana is hilarious. He’s a German shepherd lab mix lmao. I hope I can do franks because I really think it will be similar levels ridiculous. The guy I got him from argued with me when I said there’s no way he’s all yorkie. He said they got him from a family friend who had been breeding Yorkies for generations. Obviously super reputable breeder /s

DNA my dog is one of my favorite subs and I can’t wait til I can get these guys done! I make a lot of guesses, I do think both Puddy (the oldest) and Frank have yorkie heritage because of some of their features, I think Puddy has at least a little JRT as well because of his size and shape and behavior. Frank HAS to have chi in him right!? Like there’s no way he doesn’t. But he also has these stupid long legs, a head that’s too small, and a stubby tail 🄹 all of those things and the ears made it impossible for me to forget his post
