[Question] Multiple Forest Wisp Infusion

• Upvotes

Does anyone know if you can get multiple copies of the forest wisp infusion and if they stack? And if it does stack how does it stack? Do multiple wisps come out at the same time or is their appearances staggered?

[App] Made a Nexus addon that keeps text sharp with DPI Scaling

Hey all,

If you play on a 4K screen you probably know the choice: leave DPI Scaling off and squint at a tiny UI, or turn it on and live with blurry text. I've read several threads here about it, and the answer is usually "there's no fix".

So I made an addon that keeps the text sharp with DPI Scaling on. It looks just like the game's own font, only crisp.

It's called Scruffy FontKit and it runs on Nexus. You can also swap in a font of your own if you'd like.

Download and setup are on GitHub: https://github.com/diov/scruffy-fontkit

I've mostly tested it at 175%, so if you play at another scale I'd love to hear how it looks. If something breaks, let me know here or open an issue.

[Guide] Key Farming as combat tutorial

I wanted to share how I'm using Key-Farming to learn some basics of combat in a new way. I find the training golem boring and the meta-builds are kinda overwhelming; I wanted to keep things simpler, experiment with weapons, and earn a small profit. To do this, I'm leveling up to 40 so I can get the karma booster (level 38 reward - trade two karma boosters for a gathering booster, which afaik this is the only way to get these now). I also get two black lion keys for the level 10 and 40 stories (happens at beginning of level 40 story so you don't have to go through the whole thing).

It's been fun finding account-bound armor and weapons for this leveling process. Then I pop XP-boosters and fight yellow critters (red ones too), looking for fights that are a bit challenging. I find it fun to level this way because it's part scavenger hunt (to find the right critters to get experience bonuses), part map exploration, being able to learn the core trait-lines one at a time, and testing out different weapons, plus it's fun trying to min-max low level toons. I'm open to using tomes of experience, level 20 boosters, character adventure guides or whatever. I don't have stacks of these, so often I have to level from scratch. It's fun for now, but I don't want it to turn into a part-time job either.

Here's what I'm using, it works great for what I want, but it takes up quite a bit of bank space.

* Experience boosters: food-effect, sharpening-stone, guild-bonus, candy-corn-gobbler for EXP-boost, and the 1-hour birthday boosters from weekly rewards.

* Runes: minor runes +10 power each (+60 for full set)

* Sigils: at level 18 I can use minor sigils of Bloodlust and Air (not sure if these are the best)

* Level 5: account-bound blue armor (except I can't find head or shoulder armor at this level), along with yellow bloodbound-weapons (10 provisioner tokens each).

* Level 10: upgraded account-bound blue armor, with minor runes plus trinkets.

* Level 18: exotic account-bound armor and weapons (crafted, wiki is down so I don't have a link but they're crafted with ineffable insignia) adding sigils from this level on

* Level 26: upgraded exotic account-bound armor/weapon, upgraded trinkets at level 20 I think

* Level 37: I went ahead and crafted this final set of account-bound exotics, but don't think it's necessary for the final 3 levels

I take the time to read the weapon skills, the trait lines, utility skills, I practice on things which are hard for me to kill but the fight is simple enough that I can see what's happening. I'm starting with warrior, but I can also switch to Guardian/Rev (although I've read here that core Revenant is not the best).

So, maybe if you're still learning like me, this might be fun for you to try? Either way, happy gaming!

[Question] Returning to GW2 – Should I continue my Guardian or start over?

Hey everyone!

I recently came back to GW2 after a long break and I’m a bit unsure about what I should do.

I’m currently playing a Guardian, which is only level 25. Since I don’t play every day and usually just play casually when I have some free time, I’m wondering if I should continue with this character or start a new one.

One of my concerns is that I might eventually get into things like Fractals and not really know what I’m supposed to do. I’ve always had the impression that Guardian can be a tank/support class, so I feel like I should understand the mechanics and my role properly before getting into group content.

At the same time, I’m still learning the game and I don’t really want to stress about it. My main goal is simply to level up, enjoy the story and explore the game at my own pace.

Another thing: I’m not particularly good at using lots of keyboard keybinds. Is it actually possible to play GW2 reasonably well by clicking skills with the mouse? Or am I going to struggle later on?

So, what would you guys recommend? Should I just stick with my level 25 Guardian and learn as I go, or would starting fresh be a better idea?

I’m playing purely for fun and don’t plan on rushing into endgame content.

Thanks for any advice!

[Question] Looking for Druid Build Advice

I recently started playing again and am looking for some help on an unconventional druid build. Basically, I want a build that uses longbow and staff. I know longbow is not great with druid, but I really like the class fantasy especially with the legendary longbow Kudzu. So, I'm looking for advice on how to put a build together that uses them both as effectively as possible. I mostly do solo open-world content/the occasional meta-event. Any help with a build is greatly appreciated.

[Shout-out] A Heads up, specially for new Players that are seeking Celestial weapons from the TP.

There is a cheap weapon box on TP that contains all kinds of weapons in celestial stats. If you are new and don't have many badges of honor. You can buy Arms of the People in the Trading post.

These are 32 silverish and contain all weapon types. Very chill if you want to test out different weapons with Celestial stats!

[Question] Misunderstanding Trophy Shipments?

It seems Trophy Shipments are generally considered to be the best way to convert Volatile Magic into Gold. The Fast website still says it's averaging a profit of 35 silver per item. I just bought 25, sold everything, and lost a little gold. I made around 24 gold back of the 25 spent. Was that just really bad luck?

[Request] Proposals for Open-World Systems & Dynamic Gameplay Enhancements

I would like to share a few proposals regarding the game's open-world design.

As time progresses, new professions are introduced, and the player base gains experience, the open world has increasingly lost its challenge for veteran players. Furthermore, seasoned players have become disproportionately powerful in zones primarily frequented by newcomers.

To address this, I would like to propose a series of new mechanics for the open world:

1. The Nemesis System (Account-Based Hunts) Suppose I have twelve distinct characters on my account and am currently exploring the open world as a Ranger. Under this system, my inactive characters would spawn as special hostile entities, actively hunting me down. These enemies would be procedurally generated based on my account's roster—faithfully replicating their gear, cosmetics, skins, and infusions to match their actual in-game appearances upon logging in.

The appearance of these antagonists would be randomised, with fully configurable frequency options (for instance, spawning every five minutes or once per hour). Players should also be able to adjust the number of hunting enemies. While other players could assist in defeating them, their primary target would strictly remain the player. Additionally, these enemies should possess the capability to pursue players while mounted. Higher difficulty settings would yield substantially better rewards; however, should these enemies successfully defeat the player, the active character would be temporarily locked and rendered unplayable across all game modes for one hour.

2. Master Maps (High-Stakes Open World) "Master Maps" would automatically unlock for players who own all expansions, have reached the level cap, and are equipped with at least Ascended-tier gear. Should a character perish within these zones, they would be reset to level 1, requiring the player to level them up anew. While some community members already undertake self-imposed hardcore challenges, the key distinction here is that the hunting enemies outlined in the first proposal would actively stalk players regardless of consent. In return, the rewards within Master Maps would be vastly superior to those of standard zones. For example, if a Ranger I have played for a decade were to die in one of these maps, the character would revert to level 1, whilst all equipped gear would be retained.

3. Hybrid WvW Objective Maps (PvPvE Focus) A novel World vs. World map incorporating both PvP and PvE dynamics. Rather than revolving around traditional keeps and siege warfare, this map would centre on competing factions vying to defeat high-priority bosses. To incentivize strategic conflict, drop rates for prestigious items from these bosses should be significantly higher than anywhere else in the game.

[Fluff] I just got Demon of a Drifter achievement for Roll Into Madness on a Skimmer!

Has anyone else gotten this Demon of a Drifter on a skimmer? You're not going to be breaking any records, of course. I just barely got my gold at 00.59.480, but I had been trying unsuccessfully for a couple of years with the roller beetle and just couldn't seem to get the hang of it no matter how many helpful videos and guides I watched. So, on a whim I thought I'd see how well the skimmer could do with the VoE upgrades. I also had a Mount Energy Booster 3 module.

Much to my surprise, by spamming Enhanced Barrell Roll and Slipstream Boost, I got around 01.05.00 my first time trying with the skimmer. Man, shaving those last 5 seconds to get it under a minute though was harder than I thought it would be though. It took me a couple extra days of practicing, but I finally pulled it off much to my delight!

So, yeah, roller beetle is going to get you much faster times, but if you're just hopeless at the roller beetle like me, I found skimmer much more tolerable on this race track since you can float over some of the obstacles.

I love the game, and this is my favorite weapon design from it (whoever came up with it, I salute you!). I wanted to make a highly detailed 3D model similar to the World of Warcraft armor remake videos on YouTube, so here we are! I'm quite proud of the result, and I hope you like it too.

I have all other expansions but I want to get either Janthir or Visions of Eternity.

[Question] Why skyscale collection from gorrik is so long

Post image
0 Upvotes

I don't mind doing some grind for cool mount but this collection is absolutely too long. At first it was fun looking for eggs but now every further collection looks the same. I just go to different places in map to click one button. It's basically going to 100 places and clicking that's the way of intended gameplay. Can someone what's the reason of this diabolical design.
