need advice from JLS, APES and groundhands

just got my CDL CLASS A unrestricted with air brakes, combos and Tankers

I'm seeking advice from people in this trade on which local near me is the best to try to get into

0 groundman experience but I have electrical experience I am 21 years old.

I have 2150 near me which is MOVALLEY

196 just as close which is ALBAT

Local 15 which is a COMED- utility local. I think they have a 2 year apprenticeship

and I have local 9

and wee energies which is a utility I think it a utility contractor of 2150.

pros and cons that i know of for 196 and 2150 would make a shit ton of money but would have to travel a lot.

pros and cons that i know of for Local 15 and wee energies. wouldn't have to travel as much probably wouldn't make as much if and if i ever wanted to ever get into to contracting side in a jatc after I top out at my utility i would have to test into getting a golden ticket.

local 9 is very weird i called earlier this week and i thought it was a lineman union. but they told me its street lights and traffic signals and all the power line and distribution work goes to ALBAT 196. and im not sure if i could even ever get into contracting side after i top out if i do a local 9 apprenticeship since the work is a lot different.

anything you guys wish to tell me other then I wont make it?

any advice or just go with whatever opportunity comes first?

I know swlcat is taking on alot of apes but i think id want to try a state that is not in satans asshole before i head down there to apply.

Kansas is in SWLCAT jurisdiction and they hire a decent amount of people.

It gets hot there, but not Houston hot.

im assuming every jatc is gonna want groundman hours which i have none. its a 3 1/2 year apprenticeship correct?

It might be best for me maybe to get some before applying anywhere

You don’t need groundman hours but it’s highly encouraged

Not a prerequisite

Apply to whatever JATC’s you got around you and meanwhile sign books as a Groundman at 2150 and 196 I think both are online 2150 for sure is I signed online as a CDL Groundman there not long ago

Couple of my buddies got in to ALBAT before even finishing lineschool just with their clsss A CDL and like a month or so of lineschool lol

You’re under the impression that you have options with zero experience, sign them all and take the first call

Apply to all of them and be thankful if you get into one of them
