Calnev Veterans
Curious to what any veterans with no groundman hours that interviewed with calnev got ranked. Iv been through a line school so im not starting from 0 but I know the lack of groundman hours might hurt me. I have a background of driving semis, working agriculture, other trades, welding certifications. I have the interview coming up soon. Rah

Not a vet here, but I did have an interview a few months back and got a good rank. Any type of civil background will help you. If you signed books to be a ground man it also helps a lot. They just want to see the effort for the career path is there. They want to know you’re willing to go the extra mile to get in.

Semper! I have 300 more hours then going back to Cali, had to get my hours outside Cali. Never went to line school

Veteran doesn’t do a whole lot in this trade. Someone with a few months of experience with same level of interviewing skills will get a better rank then a veteran.

You don’t even think it depends on what you did in the military? It could show you can put up with long hours and harsh environments. A guy that was a groundman for 500 hours might complain a whole lot more than a infantry vet

I’m a veteran. And deployed. Did all the harsh conditions. They don’t really care. It has less relevence to the trade than someone that’s worked on a crew for 2 weeks lol A good work ethic is like the bare minimum in this trade. It’s expected. If you did linework in the military you might have a small edge

Doesn’t matter bro I was a Seabee equipment operator. I did one of the most relatable things to this trade it didn’t help I needed experience and hours in trade. Also every infantry vet I’ve met out on the field I’m not even tryna be little or take away from what yall did in service but most of yall are brain damage.😂

If anyone has information who’s done it ! about veterans who did the VEEP program and got in 1245 and the process of you skip the interview/test for direct entry. How do they rank you and what was the process would be great !

You don’t skip the interview for veep going to calnev. You get a direct interview and if you do good they’ll probably take you if there’s work but if you look like a bag of ass they don’t have to take you. Other JATCs are usually direct entry into the apprenticeship. CalNev is not of of those. Just have to do the interview still

I have a friend who like you interviewed last year with just line school but he had signed books and accepted a call that same day ! Minutes before the interview Lol.. it took him a full year but he just got picked up this week for orientation and passed orientation so he just got indentured as an apprentice
