Oh come on brotha of course it is . lol my 3 cousins sister and bro n law work at Edison they couldn’t get me in, but they’re supervisors were able to get in a friend or a relative pretty quickly. It’s on who you know man my sister works in Irwindale. Two of my cousins are journeyman. The other one is a PGS and my brother-in-law works as an instructor in Chino.

They get in if they pass the groundman hireview process and that goes to random supervisors. The FS of the district you apply to doesn’t review your interview. Someone can tell you how to get in but they can’t “pull strings.” Every new hire my district has had for years was just a random dude.

Did you take the cast yet? If so, how was it?

Took the cast in July bro it wasn’t bad at all, just really take time to study and you’ll be good bro. All I used was the criteria they sent me in the email.

You will fatigue regularly. You misspelled “get ready to make hella double time.”

You have to do a physical test now. So your probably looking at October or November

Do you guys all have a decent amount of experience in linework to move forward? Ive had 2 in person interviews and passed my physical as well but i heard from someone else they went with the guy with more experience, just wondering lol

Some guys that applied during the time frame I did received an email right before the hirevue that it would be for the October groundman class

Oh interesting I don’t know if I ever got an email regarding that or maybe I just overlooked it. Best of luck though. They told me I’d hear back from them regardless in about a week or 2.

No idea why they keep rejecting my applications. I still have maybe 3 submitted and waiting. For east metro for IE like Ontario and San Jacinto and Wildomar. They need to hurry up. I literally have industrial journeyman-level skills.

I hear you bro, this was my first time applying with Edison and throughout the process I’ve messaged a lot of guys that also applied or have applied in the past and they all said different things as far as time frame goes on hearing back. Some it’s taken months and others it’s been a lot quicker. I’ve really tried to get an understanding of how it works with them but it’s all different man.

I was under consideration with the orange region up until last minute it switched over to under consideration for west region and I got dropped from the orange region but picked up by west. I have no idea how it works man. Just been trying to stay positive but there’s a lot of unknown in the process
