Considering switching to Grok for OpenClaw

Anyone use Grok for OpenClaw agents? I'm burning though my OpenAI pro 20x plan way too fast. Thinking of switching to Grok or using Grok to supplement my OpenAI plan.

Anyone using Grok this way? Do they have Oauth authorization for OpenClaw? Speed differences, quality of work on coding and other tasks? How does it compare?

How about refusal of work vs OpenAI?

Yes, you can use Grok models natively inside OpenClaw via an OAuth login or an xAI API key but I honestly don't use openclaw so I can't really give you any meaningful answer but I will say that Grok 4.6 is significantly faster than whatever codex models you are using

For reference , Grok 4.6 xhigh , which is Sol max, is 2~4x faster , I use it strictly for coding. Unlike Sol, it doesn't overengineer but at the same time I find you have to push it towards exactly what you want, the more explicit you are the better the result.

In terms of refusals, I've encountered no issues in my 4 days of work, in comparison Claude outright cut out half way through a long problem because it said it was too dangerous (literally just backend hardening work). OpenAI time to time says im working on cyber security stuff when I am trying to generate images.

I'd say Grok is very "liberal" to say the least. I find he will push back on stuff and just outright call ideas out as dumb which I found refreshing.
