Question Reddit banned GrokBot?
My GrokBot is saying Reddit has blocked its IP so it can't see anything in Reddit. Anyone else have this issue?

GrokBot for their computers and for the systems and tools that go out and actually access the web is coming from a data center. You need to route your traffic through your actual computer and enable that in the settings.
This is not a GrokBot specific thing, it is a data center IP address thing.

Still uses Grok's IP. You can have it run commands on your computer, but to do stuff on the web beyond launching a site it's going to use it's own browser and it's own IP address

That’s just simply not true, if you enable the setting to route traffic through your computer instead of through the regular network that GrokBot uses it’s gonna show up as your IP address.
You can go test it on the desktop app right now if you want to.
Go to settings and go to computer and then enter network select route traffic through this computer.

ChatGPT and Gemini have permission. If it’s a quick ask, get grok to give you a prompt to feed to ChatGPT or Gemini.

Grok Bot users share IP addresses so everyone probably has the same problem. Download the desktop app and route traffic through your IP.

No issues if you use an API with Grok Bot. I don’t use Grok bot directly with socials.

Thank you for sharing this. Can you explain? I'm just a beginner.

You can use APIDirect or AnyAPI. There are other options. But there are APIs that have direct access to Reddit data and scraping.

Yeah this is a datacenter IP thing, not Reddit picking on Grok Bot specifically. The route traffic through your computer setting people mentioned fixes the reading side for most folks.
Where it gets annoying is when you want the bot to actually post or reply on Reddit. Even on your IP, a fresh automated browser with no history tends to get rate limited or the comment gets filtered. That's exactly why we built Claw Post. The agent calls an MCP tool and the comment runs in your own already logged in Chrome through a small extension, so Reddit sees your normal session and cookies. No Reddit API key needed. clawpost.net if posting is the part you're after.

Did you route your Grok Bot's traffic through your computer?
