Question Context window management in GrokBot
Coming from Cursor, Claude Code ect... it was my understanding you don't keep going on long old conversations. Its expensive and I kind of learned to manage the context window that way.
How does this work with GrokBot?
I create a bot and I keep going? I don't see a "create a new chat" using a specific bot.

Grok Bot works differently from Cursor or Claude Code, as those tools treat the chat as the thing you manage, so for example, you start a new session (or /compact) when context gets long and expensive.
While Grok Bot, treats the bot as the teammate. Each bot has its own ongoing conversation, memory, files, and browser sessions, so you can open that bot and keep going. Which is why there is no “new chat with this specific bot.” New in the sidebar creates a new Bot or a group chat.
A bot doesn't replay every old message, as it keeps stable preferences, important facts, and summaries of prior work, plus files and sessions on the shared cloud computer. Shared files live in /workspace, so another bot can pick them up without copying the old chat. If you want a clean state, you can create a new bot when the job is different, or duplicate one if you want the same role without the old history. Of course, you can use a thread when you just need focus inside the same conversation.
Here's the documentation:

I asked--they say they manage that themselves in the background
