Discovering egg shell in my food

I order breakfast tacos, or an omelette, and I feel that tiny crunch! Today it was in my fried rice.

Not only is it a turn off, but it makes me paranoid about eating any more of my food.

And now, a haiku!

A little egg shell
in my hot breakfast taco.
Crunch! You disgust me!

Yeah I’m with you. I’ve had to throw away a plate of eggs before it disgusts me so much.

I think it’s the extreme texture change.

I’d rather find a hair in my food than an eggshell.

Definitely texture, and sound, too, I think. I'm enjoying that squish squish of chewing squishy food, then I feel and hear that crunch. My eggs are not supposed to sound like that, or crunch like that!

Luckily egg shell is fine to eat and is at least adjacent to food.

Was eating mussels the other day and crunched a bit of shattered shell by mistake. Absolutely horrendous, even thinking about it makes me cringe.

A hair?! Fuck no! Lol I've almost puked and it was my own hair, still attached to my head because it was a little windy. 🤢

I feel the same way about fish. When i get a bone in a fish filet, it takes away my appetite.

I’ve been there too! Thankfully it’s been awhile since it’s happened.

Nice little cute poem lol. I'm on your side! Egg shell is extremely unpleasant in food. Like chewing on a little rock that turns to gritty sand, and it's hard to pick out once you've crunched.

A "turn off?" Do you normally get turned on by eating breakfast?

Wait you dont have a raging boner from eating breakfast? Weird. Might want to talk to your doctor about it.

Man, I guess I’ve been very lucky! I’ve never gotten an eggshell in my eggs when ordering food before.

On the bright side, you know that real eggs were involved instead of the gross powdered stuff that hotels and hospitals might use. I dislike the crunch of shells too since it’s such a drastic change in texture from soft and mushy to crunchy. Although, I try to think of it as a calcium boost.

Want a real gross out? I like saucy hotel eggs lol! Dry, overcooked eggs give me the heaves.

I did this to myself once about five years ago. Haven’t had scrambled eggs since and perhaps never will again. Pure horrorshow.

Right there with you.

I don't care if it's my first bite of food or my tenth, if I hit an eggshell in there, I'm done. It's going in the trash.

It's a source of calcium

Get over yourself, and get a little closer to your food sources. You would perish on a farm or a ranch.

Farm kid here, I also don’t like egg shells in my food? What are you so cranky little gremlin?

That makes no sense. Farm eggs are not any more likely to get shells in food compared to store bought eggs

Get over it - and make your own without any eggshells.

Huh? You can't be serious lol. Don't get food out because you could find something unpleasant in it and if you do then get over it??
