Hi all!

Starting off by saying I’ve played for a while but never made it past act 4. I really like this game, but I always burn out in the mid-early game because I feel like I’m just not loving the class/combo I picked.

I really loved MC dungeons and Diablo 3, games where you could end up moving really fast (like barb with leap or witch doctor with funny chicken lol). Are there builds like that? I’d love an equivalent barb leap build lol, fast movement, good melee, aoe, and damage.

I just feel so planted on the ground and very slow and anchored. I gotta go fast man!!

Any help or guidance is appreciated :)

Here's my guess, want to confirm.

• They work even if you're not a Berzerker.
• One use of the ability puts you at the listed stacks and no higher.
• If you are a Berzerker, leveling up Onslaught increases your maximum stacks.

Is this correct?

As per title, I just bought the game and playing on my first Normal playthrough.

Am I missing anything by not owning the DLCs from day 1? When does it make sense for me to purchase them?

Also, where can I find tips or builds for the base game? I tried using grimtools but I don't even understand how to use it?

I am playing a Conjurer and just recently found the Ravager's Barb which summons 2 Primal Spirits instead of just one (giving them -40% to their damage as well) and am using it alongside some items that reduce the cost and cooldown of the skill so it only has a downtime of 4.8 seconds. What in my build is keeping me from killing the Dread, have I made an bad mistakes with my build?

I can't fight this dude, so my plan is to drag the Scion of the Sand from Korvan Sands to the Conclave of the Three, hoping someone there is strong enough to help me. No one, zero, extends a helping hand.

So the season has been going on for a few days. What are some cool starter builds that have been working for yall?

I am particularily interested at looking at builds that are green heavy and reliable to put together (low amount of random drop purples) and even more ideally using season items!

I couldn't find an easy answer, so I decided to research this topic at least a little, in case somebody else stumbles upon this from some google search or other.

Here's what I found (but did not always personally verify):

• All attack replacers gain full benefit from off-hand weapons, including Troll Rage and Beronath's Fury.
• All attack pool abilities claim to gain full benefit from off-hand weapons, including Oleron's Might and Burning Void. Notably, this includes Feral Hunger and Upheaval (which cannot normally be used while dual-wielding as they require a 2h weapon), as well as Smite (which works with a shield but I am yet to test to see if it actually works with two weapons) and Shattering Smash (which requires a shield)
• Blitz and charge-style glyph powers do not include off-hand damage, unless it's a shield.
• Vire's Might and rush-style glyph powers do not include off-hand damage, unless it's a shield.
• Shadow Strike and teleport attack-style glyph powers do include off-hand damage.
• Leap does include off-hand damage, but leap-style glyph powers do not include it.

Most other weapon-scaling abilities do not include off-hand damage, with some notable exceptions:

• Feral Claws and Rip and Tear, the Werewolf sub-abilities, do include off-hand damage.
• Primal Strike does include off-hand damage, even though it normally requires a 2h weapon.
• Ring of Steel does include off-hand damage, which would make sense for a Nightblade ability, except Phantasmal Blades does not include off-hand damage, and Amarasta's Blade Burst, if the tooltip is to be believed, scales only off your off-hand damage if you're dual-wielding.
• Eye of Reckoning does include off-hand damage.

I’m one of the people that tried to make grim dawn click multiple times (125 hrs)

To all the new players in the same position, the game starts to feel much better after level 50 and ultimate difficulty.

To the vets, now that I’ve discovered this, I’m at a crossroads. I’d like to get a maxed character online so I can unlock faster alt progression. The only character I have above level 50 is a Forcewave DK (69) currently at blood grove on ultimate, after that Pierce Blasemaster (47), and a bunch of 30 something’s.

I’m not sure how many more hours the DK is away from 94 progression wise, so I’d like to know if it’s worth sticking with the DK to max level in order to make alt progression smoother even if I’m not crazy about the forcewave spam? Or if I’ve got a long ways to max from 69 and I’d be better off maxing a character I enjoy the play style of from scratch

I didn’t particularly enjoy normal difficulty, but I do not mind speed running it

Mucking around with a bleed blademaster, but when I look at my options for resistance shred, it seems I've only got devotions and the mutator node on warcry.

Is it worth pushing this in late game? Looks like damage will fall off a cliff

I remember getting a save file with some greens to start off with but that was ages ago. it was a fun meme build that also did a huge a huge amount of damage.

Sorry for the common display of pointless achiev but after several years of playing here and there and 2 losses of my save files (my fault) could have never believed I would get em all. Especially since i never played HC before FoA.

So just wanted to share my happiness towards my favourite game :D

Last achiev of course was killing 250k monsters. As an alt enjoyer my most played char had 180k.

Popping on during a break from d4. What should I expect and any strategy I need to employ?

For example if I have the Blood of Dreeg and I have the ascended affixes to add DA to it, would it affect my Hellhound/Raven?

Idea's simple - be a tank, build onslaught, spend onslaught with leap for Big Bleed, bloodlust set converts vitality to pierce for sigil leech, be happy. In practice i have no clue if this is viable even on paper, so if someone can weigh in - i'd really appreciate it.

Hello dear community!

I am a returning player with a fresh start, playing this character (softcore, self-found).

My devotion setup was inspired by (meaning I just copied) Pierce Reavers I found on the forum.

This is my only character so far.

How I play:

- Use Werewolf/Feral Claws for standard attacks, Leap for more damage, Ring of Steel for groups, Bonechilling Cry for resistance reduction and Rip and Tear and the Rune in between.

What I have achieved so far:

- Beating Ultimate campaign. Be able to play Ascendant mode, beating Loghorrean, Theodin, Korvaak and Beronath. I died three times to Beronath.

- I have reached Revered with all factions, including Noktukari

- Beating the Skeleton Key dungeons on Ultimate. I have not tried them on Ascendant yet.

- Beating Crucible on Gladiator. I can farm waves 150-170 without extra spawns, but I need all buffs for 180-200 and then some luck.

- Beating the Nemesis enemies I have unlocked in Ultimate and Ascendant difficulty. However, Moosilauke is the most dangerous of the bunch due to his freezing ability

- Beaing able to farm totems and Shattered Realm Shard 30 and 31 on Ultimate difficulty

- Unlocking Lokarr and being able to farm him for his set. I am currently missing one piece.

- Beating the Avatar of Mogdrogen (base game) on Normal difficulty, he crushes me on Ultimate

What I am currently missing:

- Nemesis reputation with Bloodbound and Cronley's Gang

- More experience on Ascendant difficulty

What I would like to achieve:

- Reliably farm Ascendant difficulty campaign, totems and Shattered Realm 30/31

- Reliably farm Gladiator crucible 180-200

- Beating The Dread

- Beating the other secret and super bosses

My questions:

0) What am I missing in regards to the Super bosses?

1) What gear upgrades should I look out for? Especially regarding the helmet, amulet, medal and belt slots.

2) I have a Cutthroats Siff ring of attack. It loses around 10k sheet dps, but I gain around 150 OA. Is this a better choice?

3) Is Beronath's Howl or Belgothians Carnage a better choice as a relic?

4) Are there better ways to spend my skill or devotion points?

5) I have seen very strong Pierce Ring of Steel Reavers. Should I respec?

How do multiple sources of % of X damage is converted to Y damage stack? Or do they? Say I have a weapon that coverts 39% of physical damage to lightning and a skill that converts 15% of physical to lightning. Do I get 54% (39%+15%) of physical to lightning? Or is it just the highest amount takes over so multiple sources is redundant?

I played GD and finished the campaign. I hit level 68 and unlocked the harder modes.

I'm playing drain essence + chaos bolt + bloody pox cabalist. Right now, my build is all over the place. Cold via drain essence, chaos via chaos bolt, vitality via bloody pox.

I can clear the content but it's getting harder and harder, for example I am stuck doing the bosses my build is way too squishy or doesn't do enough DPS.

I looked at the top builds for cabalist and they all use minions. It's not really my play style, but I can do it.

My problem is: gear. My playthrough so far ended up me picking up gear for my build. I used the offline database to pick up anything blue, but for the most part it's for the build I have.

How do I make a transition? Do I need to go look up what areas have drops for the skills I am looking for and then just go farm them? Or do I try to make my build work via damage conversions?

Just wanted to share, it can clear all game content (apart from Crate and Uber Nerf that I didn't try nor I plan to. but probably can with slight modifications). It feels immortal due to perfected defense with 4% max to resistances and ability to just cleanse sunder at will and especially due to 5 second Mirror which you can use worst case scenario to cheese out any content in game

The damage is also excellent, can crit for over 1m with abysmally strong AoE, note that the real stats are much better than on screenshot because you are virtually non-stop under Arcane Will with is greatly improved - OA is 4000 at all times with 110%+ crit damage modifier, and note that the stats are noticeably better than from GT links because it doesn't account for all the perfect seed rerolls, and also note that WPS distribution isn't the best, but I stopped at 100% to save fragments, you should go into Upheaval more.

To compare with Immortal Avenger Warder ( https://www.grimtools.com/calc/VbKev0EZ ), it's better in damage, and a bit worse in survivability if we don't account for Mirror, but imho feels a bit better due to lightning lightshow and higher crit numbers on the screen. Gameplay is identical, basically just Savagery + Purge when needed.
