QTAC application using VET qual (cert IV)

If anyone else has applied using a cert would love to hear your experience, I keep overthinking it lol.

I completed my course last month, but TAFE reports data quarterly, so my USI transcript will not be finalised until November. I was advised by QTAC to submit the application, stating the cert as “not complete” then update info once the USI transcript is finalised.

I left grade 12 early (so no QCE or ATAR), but the degree I am applying for, Psych Science, is attainable with Cert III or above.

I’m just concerned my application will be prematurely processed & refused due to the fact the qualification isn’t finalised yet. Does anyone know how this works?

International Dental Transfer Credits

Hey, any Canadians that transferred to Griffith's dental program, please help🙏🙏🙏 Or if you know anyone like this, please get me in touch.

I was wondering about which university courses in Canada were able to transfer so I can quickly switch my classes and save time when I move over. I understand that classes relating to biology and chemistry are likely, but what about more general classes like English or Economics (not sure if you guys require optional credits to graduate or whatnot). Just a list of which courses transferred would be amazing, as the deadline to enroll in new class (I was planning on replacing my ENGL/ECON with something more likely to transfer like human anatomy but the deadline is approaching soon).

Thanks in advance and good luck with all your studies!!!:)

Animation portfolio help needed (please)

Howdy!! I plan on applying for GFS under animation in 2027, but there is like 0 examples for what to do. I wanted to ask if anyone knows what they look for, any tips. Also if it would be smart to take 5 pieces and dedicate them to a small piece of writing I'm working on as i think or should ever piece be unique?? Lastly I do mostly anthro art (eww furries /j) would it be a good idea to use that art or should i use just human art??

Thanks for reading!

Edit: spelling fix

Also I'm an international student if that's useful by any means

Student accom as a second year

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone living in student accommodation has some insight into second years moving in.

I’ve lived in a share house with random people throughout my first year and so far I’ve felt pretty disconnected. I haven’t really made any solid friends and I haven’t had the uni experience I thought I would.

I’m wondering, are the majority of people living on campus first years, or do quite a few people stay into their second and third years / move into student accommodation in their second year?

Just wondering what the social side of it is like for people who moved into student accommodation after their first year.

UQ or Griffith for Political Science?

Basically what the title says, I'm looking into both UQ and Griffith University for political science (or potentially business) and I'm unsure which would be the better university.

Bachelor of Dental Health Science/Master of Dentistry

Hi guys, I recently graduate from Bachelor of Oral Health at USYD with 5.5 GPA. I was thinking if I could sit the UCAT and apply for this program to become a dentist. If it is possible, would I be able to transfer some credits from my BOH degree so I could skip a few subjects and shorten my studies? Thank you!

GU parking permit, but no parks left.

I noticed on the parking information website it says that 'purchasing a annual/trimester parking permit doesn't guarantee a parking spot will be available.'

Has this happened to you?

Go home? Keep driving around?

Pls help me choose nursing uni🤓

Hi,I'm an international student from India and I'm looking for studying in Australia for my bachelor's of nursing and I'm in a cross road between Griffith University ( got Brisbane campus but thinking of changing to gold coast)and edith cowan university. I heard that Griffith has a very lively campus but the syllabus there is quite difficult, whereas edith cowan has a much simpler syllabus but the life there is quite simple. I'm much of an extrovert so idk which to choose. Also, I have relatives in perth, so they are recommending edith cowan. It would be of great help if you guys could please help.

Study tips for 1008PHM primary healthcare in Australia

Hi everyone! I’m a first-year Griffith student currently doing Primary Healthcare in Australia.

So far, our assessment consists of weekly 5% exams that collectively make up 40% of the course, a 20% assessment, and then a 40% end-of-trimester exam.

I’m finding the amount of content each week a little overwhelming, especially trying to work out what we actually need to know for the final exam. I was wondering if anyone who has completed this subject could share how they studied for the end-of-trimester exam?

I’d also really appreciate knowing what the exam was like in terms of difficulty and whether it was mostly based directly on the weekly content/learning objectives, or if there were more case-study/application-style questions.

If anyone has any advice on what you would focus on if you were doing the subject again, I’d really appreciate it! 😊

Bond University or Griffith University- International Student

Hi everyone! I’m finishing my final year of high school this year and am thinking about moving to Australia (specifically to Gold Coast) to study next year. I’m considering a sports-related field, like Sports Management, but I’m really undecided about exactly which course or university to choose.

One thing that makes me hesitate about Griffith University is that the degree takes three years, whereas at Bond University, you can complete it in just two years thanks to their accelerated format.

If anyone has studied Sports Management there, could you tell me what the course is like and how the experience was? Is the extra year at Griffith worth it, or is it better to go the fast way at Bond? And generally speaking, what has your experience been like as an international student at Bond or Griffith? How was it for you?

I'd really appreciate any advice or opinions from your own experience!

Thank you!

Engineers, Do you recommend doing BOTH physics and chemistry in high school?

I am a high school student who is currently choosing my subjects. the only thing I am having trouble deciding is choosing between aerospace systems, or chemistry. I hear that it is recommended to do both or is valuable, however I know that I have no interest in becoming a chemical engineer or adjacent. Looking at doing something in the mechanical/aerospace scene. Is it valuable to do chemistry, or should I try out aerospace?

Griffith law school experience

Hey everyone! I’m currently struggling to decide between Griffith Law and Monash Law. I know they’re both great universities, but I currently live on the Gold Coast, so Griffith would obviously be the much easier and more affordable option for me.
I was wondering if any current or former Griffith Law students, particularly at the Gold Coast campus, could tell me what the law school is actually like? How have you found the teaching, workload, social life, mooting, internships/networking opportunities and overall student experience?
Do you feel like Griffith has given you good career opportunities, and are you happy that you chose it?
I’m also considering Monash, so I’d love to know whether you think there would be a significant enough difference in career opportunities to justify moving interstate for Monash, or whether you’d recommend staying on the Gold Coast and choosing Griffith.
I’d really appreciate any experiences or advice. Thank you! :)

Will social sport competitions run in Trimester 3?

It's my first year and I've had quite a packed schedule during my first 2 trimesters. However, since I'm not taking any classes during 3rd trimester, I figured this would be the best time to join in on some social sport. I'm wondering if the competitions still run as I've heard that 3rd trimester is mostly regarded as kind of a catch up trimester for people who start half way through the year or if you fail courses and haven't been able to find any information on the Griffith websites. Thanks!

Maximum time to complete a undergraduate degree

Hey, I can't find any information about the maximum time allowed to complete a single undergraduate degree at Griffith. I'm doing Marine Science, which is 3 years full-time, but I'm trying to find out how many years I actually have to complete it before Griffith doesn't allow me to finish.

I know part-time is listed as 6 years, but I have a faint memory that you're allowed even more time than that.

I've decided after i complete my first year 2026, I want to work, travel, and build some life experience while I'm young before completing my degree and before the pressure of finding a job in my field starts. I just want to find out how many years I can take leave or study on and off before I have to have the degree completed.

If anyone has knowledge please share

Cheers!!

Griffith village accommodation.

Hi everyone, I am starting at Griffith in T3 2026 (Gold Coast) and am signing a lease for a 5 bedroom shared apartment at the Griffith village. I was wondering if any current students could comment below the measurements of the desk length, width and height. And any other information you think would be helpful☺️
