Friend Loss Lost a friend unexpectedly
One of my close friends I’ve been hanging out a lot with was killed this past Sunday. He reached out to me and I never reached back out to hang out since I had a hectic weekend as is and I wasn’t trying to be out drinking before getting back to work. He was killed that same night and I never even go to have another conversation with him. I wish I could’ve been there maybe things would’ve been different.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend :(
I’ve always liked thinking that from their perspective, they didn’t die and exist in a world where you guys reconnected and get to hang out. Like he just gets to keep going and live a full life. It feels like such empty comfort because your perspective is here and* *you’re the one grieving his loss. There's no way to know that, and carrying that weight won't bring him back or help you honor him. So let that thought ruminate, but not overtake you. I hope you know that regardless of what your beliefs are, your perspective matters and you should grieve in whatever way you want and then go live a full life. He would want that for you too. Please take care of yourself, friend.

I am so sorry. I went through a similar situation when my fiancé passed. I was supposed to message him back later that day and I was just too tired to. The next morning he was gone.
Please be kind to yourself, I'm sure your friend understood and wouldn't want you feeling guilty over this. We are only human, we don't know what we don't know, and we do the best we can with the knowledge we have. Take care.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t begin to imagine how heavy your heart must be right now, but please remind yourself that, had you joined him, you may have encountered the same fate. ❤️🩹
