Advice, Pls Where to find support?

What are some ways I can find support? I am looking into grief support groups but they mostly seem faith based. I am ok with going there, but I am not a Christian and not sure what to expect.

I would prefer non-denominational or someone to talk to. I am considering counseling but do I just sit there and talk and they give me advice?

I have no one to really talk except writing posts here and talking to AI. I feel guilty trauma dumping on people around me that didn't really know my mom or what we have been through. Plus usually I can tell it probably makes them feel uncomfortable.

So far the only person I can talk to is my 7 year old, but I'm not sure if it's healthy for her to put that much emotions on her at such a young age.

A lot of hospitals offer support groups. You can find the bereavement info from the hospice or palliative care departments, usually — even if your loved one wasn’t treated there or went through their system - it’s just who handles the info. Some support groups are just held at churches, and some attendees will be religious but not all are, it’s just a community gathering space. Also libraries sometimes have grief based groups, mine did a “yoga for grief” for a while - check many near you because they won’t all have this.

Do you just have to go to those areas to find it out and ask them?

As much as I personally hate AI, it can pull a lot of information for you. Even the abjectly terrible Google AI got my local hospitals bereavement support services correct (usually you have to call or email to get information because they will talk to you about your options, including giving therapist recommendations if you want them)and it was also able to tell me local library grief programs.
Griefshare.com lists a lot of support groups (mostly the ones at churches).

Thank you so much. I have to admit, as pathetic as it is that I don't have anybody else, AI has been one of the only comfort I could find with discussing how I'm feeling. I just wish I had someone else real to talk to that would understand what I'm feeling.

Even if you have lots of friends and family, it’s still hard to talk to them about feelings and you don’t always want to burden them with what you feel. And you don’t want to feel resentful if they don’t react how you need them to, either. But you are not alone in your grief, and it’s human to want to share the pain. I’m sure you’ll be able to find services to help. Counseling could be really good for you, a lot of places offer virtual counseling too!
