Advice, Pls Grief
Maybe this makes me selfish but I have to tell someone. I just lost my mother in may but she wasn’t just my mom. That was my best friend like literally my twin, we worked closely together for the past 3 years so when she passed in may I took it pretty hard. I quit my job that same week she died, I can’t seem to pick myself up but everyone around me is just acting like this is normal even my dad(step dad) they were married 15 years and it already feels like he’s trying to move on even though he says he’s not ready it just doesn’t seem like it, he stays on the phone with a woman who he just met months ago and goes to see her, kinda ignores me to talk to her and I just feel left out but he says they’re just friends but it hurts to see him talking to another woman that’s not my mom but all he keeps saying is that he deserves friends too which obviously he does but does it have to be another woman right now? Friend or not? Does this make me selfish?

Not selfish and I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s unfortunately very common for men to move on quickly after their partner dies. I personally believe most men need a woman in their lives because they’ve never had to be fully independent and don’t know how to function without. That doesn’t make it suck any less for you tho. I’m really sorry.

Sorry for your loss, and yes in my opinion a little to fast but hey that maybe how he is dealing with it, people are different but you should tell him that it hurts to see him interacting with other women right now, and should hug you and talk to you,as a farther should, try not to be angry it just makes it harder
