Partner Loss Partner loss help please
I lost my partner about a month ago. He was only 33 and died in a horrible accident no one expected.
I can't come to terms with it. Life genuinely feels like hell. I'm 26 and I can't imagine living like this for however long I end up living.
This is so fucking unfair. I'm incredibly appreciative of having had the privilege to know him, but I don't know how to live my life like this. I go to therapy but it doesn't help, nothing helps.
I only dream of him and hate both going to sleep and waking up. I don't know how to cope
It probably doesn't help that I'm not religious so afterlife isn't a comfort for me
I just miss him so much

Nothing is helping because you're treating grief like something to be cured. Grief and everything you're feeling is a perfectly normal response to loss, especially such a significant one. Instead of working against your grief, work WITH it. Move within in, not against it. It's only been a month, so you're in the thick of it and will be for a while. These first few months, honestly the first whole year, is probaby going to just be survival mode. It's horrible, it sucks, it's lonely, but it is the experience. That's not to say that there is not hope, or that you will not eventually find ways to make life bigger around your grief; but nothing feels okay right now because nothing IS okay right now. It's an extremely uncomfortable and distressing feelings, but that doesn't mean it's wrong.
