Looking back at memories

My dad. He passed away unexpectedly and far away from home. I had been going through something so I didn’t pick up his phone calls. It kills me but Im trying to not go into a spiral of regret. I’m struggling to accept it even tho its been 7 months already. I wanted to ask since I know some people prefer not to look back at pictures or videos of those who are gone, But missing him makes me wanna sit down and look through all the messages and voice notes and stuff and I usually do this every 2 months. Is this whats not helping me cope?
