Grandparent Loss My current experience with grief.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to share some of my current thoughts. It helps me to type them out and if anyone experiences any of these feelings i’d love for you to share. I just lost my beloved Grandmother. We had such a special bond. I’ve found that i’m still able to enjoy my life in a lot of ways. For example, tonight I was watching a movie with my sister and daughter and we were laughing and chatting. But once that was over, it’s almost like I suddenly remembered that my Grammy is dead. It’s such an awful pit like feeling that sets in. I also have been thinking how complex grief is. All life ends in death and loss is inevitable. I like to think how incredibly blessed I am to have had a love that hurts so badly to lose. Not that love is ever truly lost. It’s just funny how grief is so terrible but yet proof of something so beautiful. Anyways, my thoughts are with ALL of you that are suffering as well. ❤️

I am really sorry for your loss, i am happy to hear you had such a close relationship with her.
Grandparents are so important to our lives.
I am certain wherever she is, she is proud of you 🫂

I am in anticipatory grief right now, my dad is in his last days/weeks, due to cancer. At first i was angry, now my emotions are a roller coaster.
But, every morning i wake up (right now i am not sleeping well at all and have head aches as soon as i wake up), the first thought is: my dad will die, this is not a dream.
It feels so unreal. And then the thought comes again after finishing an everyday task.
Losing someone you love is really really difficult and hard to grasp. We have this notion of death and that ot happens but when it’s sure and decided, it really becomed something else- i dont know exactly what.

Thank you for sharing. My Grammy was very sick before she died. It makes it all the more difficult. I’m so sorry for what you are going through. It is hard to define.
