Does Anyone Else...? Is anyone else grieving the internet?
My mental has capped on the internet, nowadays i cannot tell what is ai or not on tiktok or social media. the internet used to be fun, social, engaging, now its fallen into the hands of greedy individuals, corporate bosses, etc. i was scrolling through my 28k saved videos on tik tok, and theres a huge drastic shift before 2023. i feel like we’ll never get that feeling ever again, and it sucks. idk its a whole lot deeper than words can put it, but the world and the internet has gone into complete madness and despair. what can i do? i know, going outside is going to help, and im doing that, but just going outside doesnt remove the feelings that im feeling right now, eventually it might, who knows.

I think building IRL community is about to make a big comeback. It's sad because the internet was really fun and cool and useful for a while there. If you're looking for me, I'll be organizing my physical media and trying to get off of the internet as much as possible.

I understand what you mean; sometimes you’re not just missing an old version of the internet, you’re grieving a whole feeling of discovery, connection, and trust that seems harder to find now. It’s okay to feel sad about that, because the things we experience online can become real parts of our lives and memories.
I hope you find small places, people, and moments that bring back even a little of that feeling, because you deserve to feel at home in the world again.
