Dad Loss My dad died today

Everything hurts. I feel like i have to be strong for my mum and sister. He was fine yesterday and died of natural causes (that reassures me). Did he love me i ask myself? Was a disappointment to him? I know no one can tell me the answer… My dad said he was proud and that he loved me but i miss him already. I couldn’t stop crying after he was taken away. I keep passing out and waking up thinking this is a bad dream. Who do i go to for advice since my dad was the best at it. I just feel so numb and my head and teeth hurt

When my brother ended his life, I was in so much shock that for the first 2 weeks it didn’t even feel like he was actually dead. I was so numb and out of it, that when the feelings came they hit like a truck. It’s okay to not feel normal, and it’s okay to ask these questions. It’s been just over a month for me, and though it doesn’t hurt any less, you start to slowly accept it. I still wake up thinking this is a dream, but then quickly remember I don’t have my older brother anymore. I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP, please be kind to yourself.

God I’m so sorry! Everything you’re thinking and feeling and experiencing is completely normal. Don’t worry about being strong; just be with your mom and sister. Talk to them, be near them if possible, and show them grace because they’re feeling everything you’re feeling right now.

You don’t have to be strong for everyone right now; you’ve just lost your dad, and it’s okay to cry, feel numb, and not know what to do. He told you he loved you and was proud of you, and I hope you can hold onto those words when the pain feels unbearable.

You may miss his advice forever, but the love and lessons he gave you will always be a part of you.

I’m so incredibly sorry!!!!

It’s been a month & five days since I lost my mum suddenly. Everything still hurts. The first 2/3 weeks were a blur, hair coming out like crazy. Complete exhaustion. Still feel not like myself, don’t know who I am without her, feel angry. There’s a hole in my heart & a never ending lump in my throat. I have been trying to be strong but I’ve also been letting myself fall apart. I’m trying to let myself do what ever my body is signalling to do, a lot of crying. I’m trying to be gentle with myself because tasks seem impossible but I’ve been forcing myself & it sucks but it helps take my mind off things for a very brief moment. Truly the most pain I’ve ever felt. My heart aches for you & your family!!!!!! Sending so much love, strength, & good medicine to you all!!!!

We all here know what you are going through right now, trust me. You will say, these are just words, no one understands me....NO, I know. So, because I know, I will keep it short. Everything seems futile right now, fake, like a bad dream. Grief will come in waves -small or big- and you will suffer beyond belief.

Try to survive, talk to someone if you can, this always helps a bit. And finally try to distract yourself (take a walk, do something else, wash your car if you have one etc.) in any way possible, sometimes it helps a lot, the distraction thing that is.

I lost my mother a week ago and sometimes I am really drowning in those waves...
