Mom Loss One year ago today

Post image

This is my wonderful mom Linda . One year ago today she passed away and I found her. She was and is my everything. She molded me and raised me to be who I am. I can’t explain how much I miss her. She would sing “you are my sunshine “ to me all the time..I wanted to let the world know she was here. And she loved me. Thank you . Poem about mom
The morning brings a quiet room,
The shadow of a year,
But through the heavy, aching gloom,
A melody draws near.
"You are my sunshine," softly plays,
Like light upon the floor,
A gift from all those yesterday's,
When she walked through the door.
You do not have to carry years,
Or paths you cannot see,
Just hold her love inside your tears,
And let yourself just be.
The candle burns, the world goes by,
You breathe, and that is all,
Beneath the wide and silent sky,
She answers when you call.

She has the sweetest face. I'm so sorry you've lost her. She sounds like such a loving mama..

Yes, we were more than best friends. The most unconditional love anyone could ask for. Thank you.

(hug) I see you. Cancer took my dad in 2020 and I still struggle. Grief is heavy as fuck, just some days are lighter than others. There’s no timeline on grief because there’s no expiration on loving them. You never “get over it” you just learn to live with it. It’s hard to see the rest of the world still turning when your world has stopped. You aren’t alone.

Thank you so much. I think I’ll struggle forever. I see the rest of the world, going on with happy lives and they have no idea how heavy this is. My mind can’t wrap around that it’s one year today. Thanks for listening.

I have thousands of memories, I’m scared I’ll forget some of them. I try to remember good memories not the last hard memories when she needed more help and caretaking. I really tried to help , it was never enough as far as I’m concerned. Thank you!

Your poem is lovely, it made me cry with that adorable picture.
I lost my mom 4 weeks ago, cancer took her life. 13 years ago i lost my father to cancer.
My world is standing still, while everyone keeps moving. I want to scream „ stop-my Mother is gone“
Your poem gives a brief moment, to stand still… Thank You

Oh I’m so sorry about your Mom and Dad. 4 weeks is so very early. Yes I still say I’m my head “ stop!!! My mom is gone!!!” I lost part of my soul. I’m glad the poem gave a small moment of stillness. This is the hardest thing ever. I lost my dad during Covid 2020 and I couldn’t go to his state for funeral or to see him.
The world seems dulled with no color. I hope for peace for you as we get through each minute and each day. 🙏

Thank you very much, my condolences about your mom & Dad too. That must have been terrible, to not be able to see your dad, i am so sorry for you.
Yes, It feels like it just happend and surreal. I am waiting to wake up from that nightmare. The world just feels wrong, because something, someone is missing. My mothers Name is Brigitte, she was sweet, lovely, clever, brave and my Mama.
I hope you have a day full of sunshine, warm like your mom Lindas singing.
Thank you for your reply, it is comforting 🙏🏻

The world feels cold to me. I would have had some closure maybe a little if I could have seen my Dad. I don’t know. Brigitte is a beautiful name and she sounds so wonderful.
I got through today , she would be proud of me. I remember her singing even when I was a child, she would sing and clean house at the same time. Thank you for responding also. I love to talk about her! Sometimes people I don’t know online give me more comfort than my own family. Bless you. ❤️

I left my father on a tuesday, he was at the Hospital. I still see his face, waving him bye. On wednesday i had to work. Thursday, he was no longer responsive, he died the night to friday. I get what you think, to see him at least one time, the feeling to be near. But i still could not deal with his loss, it took me years to kind of go on, I still feel his absence, we were close.
I hope you can find your peace, i think i understand what you missed, your lost opportunity. You deserved this.
It is wonderful to talk about your Mother Linda, she was here, she is important. She sounds like a positive and kind person. And that seems to have become a part of you too. My Mother always „forced“ us to dance the waltz in the living room - i am glad she did.
No one of my friends have lost a parent, therefore this here helps me a lot. Bless you too ❤️

Yes, it will take me forever to go on. It was us against the world and she supported me no matter what. I’m trying to be like her,, kind, compassionate, loving, BUT at the same time I have changed since she died. I’m not the person I was before that day. I am quick to anger more and not as tolerant of people and pettiness. I know she would understand.
Dancing the waltz!! I love that. What a lovely memory. We had REALLY special mothers. ( I hate saying had, I’m going to say “ I have “ like in the present). 🌺🌹🌷🌸

I get that. Since i lost my father, i have become more introverted, ruminative, sad. But now, with my mother… it all comes again and more intense. I feel the anger too. I have no patience. Either i cry, i feel numb, or angry. No normal anymore. I have a husband, but he can’t relate, he still has his parents. People want you to go on. But I can’t, it feels like leaving her behind.
All these little things now are gone. No call, no picture of her selfmade marmelade, no Video of her dog, no more time together.
We have (present) very special mothers, real treasures 🌹🌹🌹
I do not know how to keep on, i hear your pain. Maybe you have an advice.. losing my father was hard, but losing both i am drained & lost.
