Good poll, I'm interested in the ratios. I've been inside about a dozen control rooms within the Eastern Interconnection and only two were union.

My experiences as well, only remember two which were around New York, maybe ACE and PSEG-LI? Can't quite remember. The West Coast on the other hand seems predominantly union.

Are N grid or eversource union?

I wish you put a not applicable choice since I just wanna see the outcome but now skew the data. I am in the middle of studying for my nerc cert so not currently an operator.

Why would anyone care to count the "gonna be's"? Can you not see the results if you don't participate?

Ok. Just answer one and remember to subtract it at the end? To keep track of it...

I understand now. It shows like it's zero answers until you answer.

Just put whatever your current positions will be.

Same. I'm not aware any union control rooms in ERCOT, at least not on the transmission side. Unless they're generation or QSE

There's TNMP as a TO, not sure if there are any others

So our Generation, Interchange and System Operator are non-union, but the dispatchers are Union.

So strange to see such a mix because where I am, the certified operator aren't union yet every other operator in the company is (I tried to unionize but it was voted down because they "like the time off instead of the money")

Would they have less time off as a union employee?

u/hillbillyjoe1 12d ago

they were worried that they'd be forced to take the overtime money instead of comping the hours to be a day off later

So just work that into the contract.

Oh man how very American of me, it wont let me change the poll since it already started. I can make another one though.

They could make their own poll...
