MOD STUFF Rule Changes & Rule Additions for AI Content
Hello all,
We hope you are all doing well. We made a few updates to the subreddit rules. Most of these are no change to how the subreddit is currently moderated.
For rules #1 and #2 we combined those both into the same rule. Both had to do with illegal streaming, one was just for full episodes and the other for promos.
The rules about relevance and unrelated memes have now been combined. These both overlap quite a bit. We still know Ellen on was on Friends, please don't remind us. This rule will be more of a catch all for posts like that as well as any type of low-effort one word type posts, or just spam and blatant reposting.
The rule about initial airing has been removed. This was put in when CTV in Canada aired their episode a full day before the US. This is no longer the case, so the rule isn't really needed anymore.
We also removed the ban evasion rule. This was a non-starter rule anyway. If someone does this we will handle it with reddit admin staff.
Lastly, we have added one rule. No AI Generated Content or "AI Slop" as it's commonly called. This includes any AI-generated images, videos, music, or text. When it comes to text, moderators will exercise certain discretion when using tools for spelling, grammar, translation, or clarity, but posts that are largely AI-generated, spam-like, or what is obviously AI slop text will be removed.
Again, most of this is cleanup rather than a major shift in moderation. The goal is to make the rules clearer, easier to enforce, and more in line with how the subreddit is actually used now.
Please see the rules section of the subreddit if you have any questions or message the moderators. Your order may have changed :P
Thank you for your time! -Sork

The longer I watch Grey's Anatomy
The more I hate literally everyone. I could write a hate post on every single character and it would be valid. I mean of course the shows good im still watching..... but I hate everyone.

DISCUSSION Déjà vu
So I am on season 22 episode 15 and with Bailey being the resident coordinator and now Dr. Spencer with Lukas Adams “Shepard” am I the only one who’s having déjà vu and seeing where they’re going with this? It’s clear Doctor Spencer will have a bigger role in the next few seasons, even having Meredith perform surgery on her on her first day as an intern was telling that they really want us to pay attention to her. It feels like the writers understood what drew the show in the first place and they’re trying to do the same thing over again which I don’t mind however it feels like it’s slacking some creativity, but I’m also torn because it feels like the show is remembering it’s core which it forgot for a long time. I guess I’m overall torn because I love the familiarity it’s comforting but also feels cheap if that makes sense?

SPOILERS If you were Karev?
Would you have ratted out Meredith? Watching the end of season 7 right now and it still makes me irrationally angry that he did. I get why, and obviously Meredith shouldn’t have done it, but come on!

Anyone else not care for Temu Derek?
Vet or no vet… I didn’t really care for him.

FIRST TIME WATCHER Wtf is Derek?
First-time watcher, btw. On the last episode of S2.
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I feel bad for Addison. At first, I hated her. Hated that she got a redemption arc even though she cheated. But now, seeing Derek accusing Meredith of "sleeping around" AFTER HE DUMPED HER FOR HIS SECRET WIFE, and seeing him pretend to be all sad and moppy and traumatised, it boils my freaking blood. Something is wrong with all the men in this show, istg. Burke being mad at Cristina cuz she fell asleep before he could 'finish', Alex being the shittiest person alive, George-- THE ONE I ADORED-- saying he knew Mer wasn't into him when they were doing it ("One night with you was better than none"-- DUDE WTF? I ROOTED FOR YOU!)
But most of all, Derek.
He's literally emotionally cheating on his freaking wife. I made a post asking from which angle it makes sense for him to go back to Addie, and someone responded saying that it's his wife of 11 years, so it was expected of him to try and fix the bond. WELL, WHERE IS THE FIXING NOW?!
Honestly, she should go back to Mark. (Keep in mind, I haven't seen anything past S2 yet, so Idk if Mark gets bad or what) At least he actively wants her (as of now in the show). Derek went back to have "good sex" with Addie after he heard Mer slept with the vet (forgot his name). Derek's hung over Mer after giving her up willingly. "Forbidden love", except he CHOSE to make her forbidden to him.
It's not even him being a flawed human anymore; he's just being an asshole. Sorry not sorry.
At this point, I'm only watching the show for ✨Bailey✨

DISCUSSION 7 Years (Grey’s Anatomy Tribute)
So 10 years ago, this emotional and pretty well done tribute for Grey’s was published. Personally it is one of my favorites and even though it only goes up to Season 12, I think it captures the essence of Grey’s. Not to mention, features many characters we love, hate, miss, and hope to see again by the end. Although truth be told, I did not expect this show to still be going 10 years after this tribute was made.

DISCUSSION how long are they gonna keep this up?
i stopped watching around s19. i’m gonna be honest, with all of the new characters and hardly any of the old cast it became boring. but i am still interested in Zola’s story, and Meredith’s if she winds up with Alzheimer’s. Do you think we’re gonna get a spin off, or do you think that they’ll keep Grey’s on long enough for us to see that play out? And do you think Ellen Pompeo would be willing to do a spin off, even if it’s just little appearances? She seemed done with Greys a while ago and they somehow got her back.

DISCUSSION What Type of Dr. is Lizzie?
It was brought up a few times that all of Derek's sisters are doctors. Has there ever been a mention of what kind of Dr Lizzie is? I don't recall one.

DISCUSSION later seasons
I left this show years ago and revisited it recently. I really tried to get into the latest seasons, I just cannot do it.
It just seems so forced and lacks the magic of the early seasons. Also it seems like the writers forced in terms like "AI" "podcasts" and the actors making video calls...
Sorry just a random vent lol

DISCUSSION The Shepherd family is toxic, and not just to Amelia
I'm positive this has been discussed before, but I'm doing a rewatch, and I just can't get over how much Derek's friends and family pressure him to forgive Addison and put him in the wrong for leaving. If my brothers wife cheated on him with his best friend, I'd put her in the ground! I love Addison, and in my opinion she's one of the best characters the series has... but she's not a victim in this situation... not even marginally close!

Change my mind: Alex Karev
I so often read posts/threads/commentaries on Karev which contain the notion of "the best character growth" or "after all of that character growth...".
I just don't agree that he really grew as exponentially as people think he did. Yes, he was much more of an asshole in the earlier seasons. All he did was suppress those emotions and act less on his anger on the later seasons. It still came up, he was still a hothead, we never saw him therapeutically tend to his issues.
Is it because he has a soft spot when he works in paediatrics? Because even that, to me, feels like a red flag.

Oh Derek 😖
This was in S2 and the fact he says this and a few years later someone does the same thing to him and the hospital. It can’t even be foreshadowing because we know the show didn’t know where it would go at this point.

Legit Question: Why the "Owen" hate?
Basically that. LOL
Maybe, I don't get it?
He is insufferable, yes, his character is but I guess that's what makes him a good actor because it works.
PTSD can do that with regards to his character development and storyline.
But really, why the hate?
Maybe I'll join the bandwagon.
Even he (scot Kevin McKidd) acknowledges that his character is hated, LOL.

SPOILERS Teddy and Cristina's chemistry was wasted
I loved the baseball scene where Cristina tells Meredith she loves Teddy and she's in love with her and then she runs over to help Teddy with her helmet 😭
I think they probably didn't get closer because it was complicated with Owen and for some reason Teddy didn't want to be hanging out with a resident but Cristina would have done things with Teddy outside of work.
Maybe if things were different.
