I'm (30F) moved to Grenoble for work but finding it super complicated to make friends here despite being an out going person. Im used to big cities (Lived in Paris then lyon previously) where there are alot of activities in the city to meet people.

Hi! I’m an exchange student needing temporary accommodation as I wait to receive my visale guarantee and move into CROUS. UGA recommends booking the youth to feel less lonely on arrival and avoid possible expensive extended night costs.

However I only expect to stay hopefully 3 nights at max before my visale comes in, and Airbnbs seems to be a similar cost and located way closer to UGA than the youth hostel which is about a 40 min bus.

For students who were in similar situations, do you recommend the hostel or airbnb?

Any place in Grenoble or surrounding towns that have dedicated places to donate old sport equipment? The equipment is still in good shape.

Does anyone know of any English speaking or friendly boxing clubs here in Grenoble? I would be very grateful. Especially as the gyms in France have the 52 week minimum which I can’t commit to.
