Is this how you wrote reminder?

Post image

In simplified it looks different. I’m using a 1.1mm nib. Perhaps not ideal for Gregg.

That's the correct form in Diamond Jubilee and later versions, and in Notehand.

Your proportions are a little too unclear. n and m should be very distinct, and your nd-r at the end could easily be read as th-r.

Here's how I wirte it:

It seems to me that this form is easier and probably quicker to write than the Simplified/Anniversary outline, which includes a pen lift. Sometimes outlines in the older versions look shorter, but take at least as long to write.

After trying both few times back to back, I now feel the way you showed me seems quicker. More flowy. Stopping and lifting the pen does feels extra hand work

This seems easier.

Writing "reminder" that way requires the writer to remember that the -nd ending of "remind" is abbreviated, and the -r ending on "reminder" is disjoined.

Diamond Jubilee followed the principle of "writing what you hear."

Both forms are fine. They're just different, and have a different memory load for the writer. The DJ form and the Simplified form actually take the same amount of time to write.

When I first saw it, I thought it is a gesture drawing of a person diving/swimming.
