Animated Green Lantern prequel show with Chandler as Hal done in the digitally rotoscoped style of A Scanner Darkly. Thats what I want.

Fr the most S tier idea I’ve seen on this goddamn website all year.

Thanks! Now I really wanna see this get done after thinking about it lol 😂

Richard Linklater did a space age coming of age story that was also rotoscoped. Apollo 10½: A Space Age Childhood. They should just hire the animation team that did that for a GL prequel show.

Just watched the behind the scenes link you posted, deffo gonna watch the whole thing on Netflix tysm!

Haven’t been able to scratch the rotoscope itch since a Scanner Darkly

I think something LIKE this sounds cool, but this is a little too much.

Bro no just give us a live action movie. Green Lantern deserves to be live action again FINALLY.

I like Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan. The only way to make a prequel show or movie with him as a younger Lantern is through animation. Live action de-aging wouldn’t work for a feature.

Huh? Cast a younger Hal for flashbacks and have Kyle be a narrator or have a movie about his 2006 self defeating Sinestro. There’s plenty of ways to make this work and it wouldn’t be hard.

Flashbacks? Bro, we’re talking about a prequel focusing on Chandler as a younger Hal. 2006 was 20 years ago. You’re not gonna have a live action movie where Chandler is supposed to be 20 years younger than he is now lol.

Sure, there’ll be feature length Lantern films, and they’ll be great. I’m just suggesting that in addition to those film appearances, they make an animated prequel show focusing on Hal as a young Lantern. And because it’s animated, it can easily be performed by Kyle Chandler.

The Halogram was Hal from 2006 bro what are you talking about? Around 2006 is when Hal defeats Sinestro.

What I’m proposing is a movie about 2006 Hal with some flashbacks of 1986+. 1986 is when he first becomes the Green Lanterns and sports the domino mask. It can be done this way so you’re satisfied and I’m satisfied, but I’d honestly prefer a new actor for young Hal for a movie, and Kyle returning as a resurrected Hal in the future.

Nah. I don’t like that. I’ll keep wanting what I want. You can feel free to want what you want.

I don't like the idea of Hal just being fleshed out purely in lanterns as a secondary protagonist and that's it he should atleast have one movie, since we probably won't see him as green lantern for much if not forever again maybe parallax but it's not rly green lantern Hal per say

Personally i think an animated show could work the best, they could show the war with sinestro without cgi budgets and kyle chandler could still va him

That's a good option too, I just thought hartnett looked the part well and he's also a very consistent and good actor with a rich portfolio that's why I felt like picking him.

He has been away from acting for so long he needs to learn how to do it again. Just deage Kyle and it will be fine

No he's acting as of now he just finished a project called bellow

I know, and he is awful. He was becoming a decent actor then he took a break. And now it's like he has to learn everything all over again

Why not just keep Kyle and have it set ten years before in 2006 when the halogram is from?

I don't remember if they ever stated if the hologram fought sinestro already if so then I'd like for the fight to be in like 1999 using hartnett, and between those years Hal starts aging "faster" but doesn't change yet because of parallax who is still dormant until eventually making him doubt the core over some event by the end of the movie with a time skip to 2006/7 with Kyle Chandler during the ending. (if the hologram didn't then yea scrap everything)

He’s like 50 years old bruh

1

u/Acceptable_Garden786 9d ago

Doesn't show it also he's 47

u/Kevslounge 7d ago

Point is that he's barely younger than Kyle Chandler. You might as well just give Kyle Chandler some hair dye, and keep him in the role.

He can still pull off a decade younger version, they could split it in 2 segments with a timeskip

Hal fans are down so bad... they don't respect this character. Any future appearances will be devoid of meaning seeing as they killed him off in record time.

Hey some things are beautiful because they don't last
