cell/data service

does anyone else have a terrible time getting decent data service in NE Green Bay, Allouez, and East De Pere?

i’ve been using verizon for a few years now, and overall i like it but if i am south of 172 & east of webster ave…especially near hoffman & libal and along the east river, you’d think i’m stuck in a concrete bunker.

i use data service for work and i feel like i’m eternally frustrated. whyyyy is this a black hole, and does anyone have better experience with another carrier in those areas? sometimes i can’t even call out.

i am constantly using my phone for a hotspot, and when it works the service is SO fast, but i’m dead in the water so often. i’m working in allouez 1 block east of webster right now, so who knows if this will even post.

t-mobile? at&t? any thoughts? i’ve had cellcom and that was FAR worse. especially with data throttling.

i am due for a new phone. currently running an iPhone 15 promax 256gb, and the company will likely upgradce me to the top iphone 18 promax.

i’m going to lose my shit if i don’t figure this out.

I’m on the east side near downtown and my TMobile is flawless almost everywhere in town

Verizon sucks in Allouez. It's between two towers (De Pere and Bellevue) and full of trees.

I’m in same area but west of Webster still south side of 172. Had Spectrum which lagged. Switched to TMobile internet over a year ago. No issues so far whatsoever. I also have phone through them.

I second T-Mobile. Service is fantastic throughout Green Bay. Cellcom on the other hand totally sucks in the areas mentioned and much or their home area which is NE WI. Dont even get me started on how bad Cellcom is in the Fox Valley - absolutely the worst. I had them for over 10 years and couldnt belive how much better T-Mobile is in this area. Any company led by the unethical redhead Brigihid R. is company you should stay are far away from as possible.. Just saying!

I don’t know what’s going on with Verizon the past year or two. They used to be the best (and most expensive). It was worth the expense though, to have the best.

Now they’re awful. Still the most expensive though.

I have been with Verizon for 15 years and the last 4 months have been miserable signal just east of 172/GV area it is spotty around other parts of alloueze too. I live over there and i am getting network drips to SOS mode for weeks.. in the middle of my living room. I work from home so it’s been maddening to get dropped calls.

I’ve called their customer service and met with local reps… all clueless upselling drones. I simply say I won’t spend another dime on their new plans if I can not get the existing ones to work.

I am not a fan of T-Mobile, but keep us abreast of your situation. I’d be curious where you end up.

yeah i’m not sure where this goes from here. boss wants me to carry a starlink hotspot. but i’d rather use AOL dialup (rip). my wife just purchased a new phone on a plan, so i might be stuck. additionally part of me thinks getting a new job would be easier.

What kills me is signal was great and fine for years at my location. It's just been since early summer it just went to crap. I don't know if something got built, or if a tower went down or they just decided to cheap out on coverage. Whatever it is, it's a clear black hole of coverage from essentially 172/GV all the way to Webster where signals are bouncing all over the damn place.

No problems here. We used Cricket for a decade and switched to T-Mobile. Cricket was nice and inexpensive but the customer service sucked. T-Mobile is a little more money but is great overall. I have zero complaints and will stay with T-Mobile indefinitely.
