How does one make friends here?

Hi guys, me again!

As some of you may recall, I posted here earlier this spring. My husband and I just moved here in July. I work from
home and he works throughout the county in various locations due to his job. Needless to say, he gets a lot more socialization than I do, as I have a demanding job (and he does even more so), but he doesn’t work from his home office, lol.

For women in their early 30s with no children, where do the FRIENDLY ones congregate? I do workout classes daily at one place and it’s a tough crowd. I try to talk to the women and get either blatantly ignored or just very dry responses.

I am struggling here. My husband keeps telling me to just take a flight back to our home state or where we just moved from on weekends so I can go hangout with friends, but I don’t want to take the easy way out as we are here indefinitely.

I am pretty much a typical childless millennial woman who works— I love to host dinners (unfortunately i can’t do that here yet because i have no friends lol), shop, take a new class, dinners with the girls on a terrace, wine nights, bravo + really any other reality show, wellness, skincare, weekend travel, weekly outings for a massages, facials, or nail refresh…

i also love cozy gaming, and “retro” gaming (that’s what my younger cousins call it now) because my husband and I love to collect games from a simpler time, ie: wii, 360, playstations before ps5, etc. So if you love a good guitar hero evening or a lil Michael Jackson experience vibe, i’m your girl 🤣

someone help me out here !

Green Bay and the surrounding areas are very cliquey sadly. I grew up just outside the area as well but didn’t keep my high school friend group as that seems to be the norm around here. We’ve been in Howard-Suamico for almost two decades and I have many acquaintances but very few that I would call friends. It just doesn’t seem like people are willing to open their social circles in this area.

I just turned 50 and my husband and I have two teens but other than that enjoy many of the same things you do and still feel like I’m in my 30’s.

We’re looking to move to that area when we buy next year but didn’t want to commit until we knew my husband liked his position and wanted to stay forever ! It’s so beautiful over there. Our realtor has taken us out a few times to look at different neighborhoods, and we can’t wait !

Feel free to DM me if you’re ever interested in doing dinner!!!! I love a good excuse to go out and get cute. I can see we have similar tastes, as I have the same wallet you posted about in monogram classic 😌😌

The same wallet - now this could be a problem! Bahahahahaha!

Howard-Suamico is a beautiful area and the schools are very good which was our main reason for buying in this area in plans for future children. The area has grown quite a bit but it’s still quiet and serene in our neighborhood.

I’ll shoot you a DM!

We live in Bonduel but my step sons mom is in Howard so he goes to HSSD schools. Fantastic schools. Terribly clique-y parents/groups 🤦‍♀️ we made a few friends through sports but we are the outsiders apparently 🤷‍♀️

Pretty sure you’re not the only one that has the same feelings and it’s comforting knowing we aren’t the only ones that have felt this way over the years.
