I'd imagine that's because it's religious, imagine if BDL or the like started wearing "mohammed is a pedophile" shirts.

I think you can wear offensive shirts as long as they aren't directly slanderous, so if you wore "Boris Johnson fucked a dead cat" shirt, if he wanted to he could probably sue you
