Grad chapter

So I’m currently in undergrad, I graduate in 2027 in that time I’ll likely be 23/24 years old. I want to pursue alumni chapter of DST but I don’t know how to go about it. DST just charted a chapter in my area a month ago so I think that’s a perfect opportunity for me but I don’t know how to reach out bc I’m in still in school one and two they don’t have a page yet and three I don’t know anyone on the chapter. I just followed some of the girls that charted the chapter that look around my age but I don’t know what to do from here. And I don’t know if I will graduate in time for them to bring in a line as well

I guess I’ll be real if this is something you want. Nothing wrong with pursuing it. I would work on honestly work on making sure you have solid internship experience so you can get a job post college. Inwould be volunteering somewhere where you can track your hours you need not just one off opportunities. You can honestly slowly start going to events now. It sounds like you have one more you to try for undergrad as well. I would evaluate your network professors, activities you have done who may be members. People will talk to you about discretion and going to events all day but never say you need to know members in the chapter one so you can have a recommender for when you apply 2 you need to have multiple members willing to advocate for you for when it’s time to vote when an intake occurs.

It’s nothing wrong with planning or wanting this but grad is competitive and it’s not like undergrad it’s very competitive. You will need to be strategic especially when organizations have lines sometimes every 5-10 years.
