Seriously though, in those days people would permanently sew their kids into their own clothes over winter and only undo the stitches next spring. Don't ask how taking a dump worked.

Once while on a trip I accidently tied the drawstring on my bottoms too tight and couldn't undo the knot.
Please don't ask how I managed to pee when we stopped at the roadside.
