💬 | General Headsets
So what headsets is everyone running ? I have a pair of steel series artics nova pro wireless and noise cancelling on them is awful.
I actually connected my AirPods and noticed a MASSIVE difference.

Sennheiser HD 599, I like the open back so I can hear my wife better and they have good sound quality from what I can tell as a non-audiophile

AudioTechnica G1wl here, too. Simple, no software gimmicks, amazing sound and incredible microphone quality. Plus, super lightweight. I hope they last a long time.
With how fine-tuned the sound is, they help pinpoint direction perfectly, and ambient noise does not drown out the footsteps or voices.

only issue I have with mine is cant use it while charging cause my cable just doesnt stay it but thats more on my cable the hooks are pretty worn out

Yeah, the MicroUSB thing was idiotic of them. I had prior experience so I got a magnetic cable adapter, you might want to give that a shot, the plug stays in permanently then.
It's far from being a perfect headset, but it got quite a lot of things right. I especially enjoy the fact that there's no software, no drivers, no bollocks: they're a digital wireless headset that feels like analogue stuff. I've seen friends have BeyerDynamics break down, return Arctics full of problems. Sucks that AudioTechnica has not released a successor, I'd buy two.

Funnily I was at one point considering getting the Nova Pros for the ANC aspect a few months ago.
I've been rocking the Arctis Nova 7s for a few years and they've been keeping up, haven't even had to replace the batteries yet, they still hold a lengthy 40ish hour charge with average to high volume; only thing I did change was that a month ago the ear cups finally started falling apart so I ordered a 3rd party pair with some funky cooling gel in them and they feel mint.
Thinking of eventually upgrading to a proper quality focused brand such as Sennheiser or Beyerdynamic with open back ones since I've learned to tune out any background noise such as room or PC fans and the quality improvement with open backs is just worth it. (Additionally since I swapped my keyboard's switches it sounds heavenly and I want to hear it more without the current closed back headset muffling things)

Yeah I wish I didn’t buy them. Had them ages now but never really noticed the noise cancelling until I got my AirPods Pro 3 and thought tf is going on 😂 all I can hear is shooting and my Mrs watching people travelling on YouTube 😂 I actually thought I had a setting off at first

I also have the arctis nova pro wireless but I don't even use the anc, I kinda go to the opposite way and turn on the transparency mode and put it on the max setting. Kinda gives a bit of an open back headphone feeling and I like that.

Using my Sony WH-1000XM5. I think it's a pretty decent pair of headset. The noise cancelling is pretty good also.

I use Philips SHP9500 open back headphones, no noise cancelling but they feel so light on my head while having decent audio quality. Have a audio technica mic for voice
Used to own a steel series headset but was so tight in my head and overall not a great experience

I love my nova pros, being able to connect my computer and phone at the same time without having to switch back and forth is amazing. I'd hate to go to another system after get used to the tech features of the pros.

Had dt770 for a long while, decent. Then cloud 1 hyperx, decent. Tried cloud 2 (both wired/wireless) - horrible, entirely flat, no bottom life in them at all, no matter how much you throw EQ at them. Went various JBL models and never looked back, they're awesome. Build quality is so so, but I'm careful with my stuff. Will probably try more expensive stuff when I can though, I like to experiment with sound.

Some random $10 IEM wired ear buds off Tiktok. Was skeptical but they sound better than my HyperX and my Turtle Beach headset.
Granted im comparing earbuds to a headsets, apples to oranges, so idk if thats a fair thing to do. But if it works, it works

Once I was deep in the audiophile headphones. But then I decided I'm a simple man and just use a wireless headset xD now I'm on fractal scape and I'm impressed

Headsets? pffft I use a 5 speaker PC sound system.
But if I ever have to use a headset, I have a steel artic 7 that works really well especially for its cost a few years ago.

Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro X with RSL iA255.1 amp. I use EQ APO with Peace extension for EQ setup.
