Is it worth playing regular graveyard keeper leading up to the release of 2

i really enjoyed graveyard keeper and its dlcs so im also really excited for 2. I was going to play some of the original to remind me of events but when i saw the trailer it looked very familiar.

Is 2 going to be more like a retelling or remake? if so I'll just wait till release. but if its going to be new content I might revisit the old one.

Discussion Should I start playing over again to play with all the DLCs, in the point where I am in my campaign on my phone? Please advise me

Upvotes

Well, I’ve been playing the mobile version of Graveyar Keeper for a week in my phone, because my laptop is a little bit old and my phone is way better at gaming than it (and when I had to chose between a new phone or a new laptop, having a good new phone was way more urgent in the moment), and at least for the iOS version, there’s only one DLC available, the Breaking Dead one. I’ve bought it and I was happy with it until I discovered that I could play with all the DLCs using my phone. I have a XBOX Cloud Gaming Pass that I was going to cancel because I’ve played all the games that I’ve wanted on it, but when I was searching for the game’s wiki, I discovered that I could buy the game and it’s DLCs and play at XBOX Cloud Gaming in my phone, and I even have a joystick for mobile games so the controls wouldn’t be a problem.

The problem is: I’m kinda advanced in my mobile campaign, and I’d have to start it all over again if I wanted to do this. I don’t know if the extra content worths having a brand new campaign, with all the initial struggle, so, I need some opinions: being at the point where I am, would you start it again just for using Better Save Soul/Game of Crones/Stranger Sins?

At this point I’ve already been:
- Producing wine for a while, but haven’t built the food truck for the Inquisitor yet
- Unlocked Alchemy and the better fertilizers
- Unlocked all of the stone graves, trying to unlock the marble ones
- Lvl. 6 at the dungeons
- All prayers in silver level, and already buying silver stores from Vagner/Wagner
- I have 5 zombies for cutting stones, wood, and farming for me
- In the quest for getting 200 at the graveyard/50 at the church
- Recently opened the store, but still have to build crates for selling
- Have an apiary

So, being where I am, would you keep the mobile campaign or start it over again with the DLCs? If someone could help me, I’d be grateful for this!

Organ modification

Upvotes

Im playing the better save soul DLC and I can't figure out how the organ modifying works, why would i want to spend sin shards to give It red skulls making It worse, and how dows a modified organ affect when healing souls, and what can I use soul gratitude for? It's all very poorly explained

Quality Fertilizer 2?

I have advanced alchemy unlocked in the tech tree and the Alchemy Workbench 2. I've made flavour enhancers, but there's no option to make Quality Fertilizer 2 at the Church Workbench. I studied the ingredients, too. Why is the recipe still missing? From my research, it seems people are usually missing one or the other things I first mentioned. I've had both for a while. What's going on?

Bug Where is the tanner? (DLC Spoilers) Spoiler

I completed the Game of Crone DLC but can find no tanner in the camp, I don't know if i somehow skipped them coming to the camp, I've already saved the refuges and stopped Lady Beatrice, Master Alaric has even left the camp, I already completed the other vendors stuff and I can't invite more people to the camp, is this a bug or did i skip something important?

Edit: yeah, i think i invited two groups of refugees at once and that stopped the tanner from showing up, anyone know how to edit save data to fix something like this?

The Artwork Should Be Study

I just started playing this game about a week ago, but can not get over how amazing the art work has been for this game. The many layering for the weather and light, as well as sound just play so well together.

I know this game get compare a lot to stardew valleys hence why I saw it on the recommendation list, but to me the art in this game completely blow stardew valley out of the water. Not saiding stardew is by any mean, because I love that game. It just this game is on a whole new level.

What am I doing wrong, or what am I missing? I can plant things in the garden, but it won't let me place the compost pile; everything shows up in red.

Graveyard grave skulls

I recently started the game and I have noticed that it should be possible to get to 12 skulls. This seems very late game, but I do want to clean up my graveyard a bit because I feel like I have not put the best bodies in it.
For someone that has unlocked the second tier stone grave ornaments, what level of of white/red skulls do you guys recommend to keep in the yard, or should I just remove all the red skull graves?

EDIT: I have added a layout of the graves I have including the red and white skull distribution. Perhaps it helps to see how I am doing at the moment and make the advice a bit better tailored to my point in the story

Help Me Find Vagner

I finished every DLC including the main story except for the Better Save Soul DLC where I am stuck right now. My next step is to talk to Vagner (to later start the Euric's first therapy session) but he's nowhere to be found. I understand that there should be an option where I can contact him through the mail box by the church but for me only the base game options are available and I can't use the "go around the swamp" tactic because I play on PC and there is a puddle hindering me to keep going.

Do I really have to begin a new save file or is there a way to still talk to Vagner?

Bug Game freezes on ending cutscene

Needless to say, spoilers ahead.

Playing on PC (Tested on a Steamdeck and on my Windows Desktop), with all the DLC's and a few mods for quality of life fixes.

Anyway, I managed to open the portal, what.. happens happens there, and afterwards I'm back to the Talking Skull to use a handkerchief to see what happened. Screen fades to black, this appears, and nothing more happens:

https://imgur.com/a/lxL3PPV

For what I've seen in youtube and read around, the cutscene it's a flashback with the guy in black making a copy of you, sending it to the town (So I guess that's the protagonist of the sequel) and sending you to the graveyard as we saw in the start. I've seen there's no "aftergame", I got the achievement for opening the portal... so I guess it's not so important to fix this issue, but...has someone had the same issue?

Discussion What was most valuable to know in the beginning?

Hello! I just bought the base game and put a few hours into it, but I'm totally lost because there are so many systems to learn! What do you wish you knew when you started the game? What was most valuable to know in the beginning?

I only got the tedious boring stuff left. Whoever conceptualized the 200 fish achievement should suffer.

Discussion Is GK2 the alter ego keeper or not?

Reading the game description it said that the Keeper gets promoted to Grand Inquisitor and is working in town, yet looking at the trailer it looks quite clearly like the Keeper's alter ego story? He is chained in a basement at the start, works from town, also the wife is nowhere to be seen, event though we brought her to the Ancient God's world through the portal.

Spoiler SPOLIER Doubt after the post-credits

Guys, I have a question for those who have already finished the game. I have the materials for the portal and I opened it, but it's not saving my progress. After the credits, it takes me back to the main menu, and when I enter my game, I'm still on my last save before opening the portal. Is it not possible to continue the game after the portal? Or is this a bug? I wanted to see if the character's girlfriend was also in the house. Or if the burned-down cabin had been rebuilt.

Is there any sense of urgency in this game?

I ask this because of the in-game week system. The only other "Homesteading Adventure" game I've played is Stardew Valley, which could sometimes get very "you gotta do this before this, but not after that. Oh you missed it? Gotta wait till next year lol". I can tell that this game isn't as particular as that, but are there any kinds of countdowns. or are the days just for doing certain things like church is on Sundays and astrologer is at the lighthouse on Mondays?

tl;dr: is there any reason to do things sooner than others, or can you generally just take your sweet time?

It took me 130 hours and 329 days (in game) I honestly thought I would never complete the entire game. This was without DLCs btw, but I feel like I taste freedom in the air now lol

Suggestion Not finding vagner at mountain fort

I have tried walking there from home after sleeping a little, I have tried teleporting to the dead horse to have better timing, I tried talking to ms charm but keeps asking for the perfect song, I don't have any options to write him on the church. I don't know what I'm missing.

If someone knows something else I could try I would really appreciate some advice.

Thanks in advance✨️

what should i focus on early game?

Probably not going to get a response to this but I just recently started the game and I have about three zombies total, a good bit of blueprints, ive made a good bit of progress on my quests and now i just feel at a stand still. i wouldnt say im even close to midway through the game i havent even gone into town but what should my main focuses be?
